How are the Gen 2 Loam Pedals different from the Gen 1 Loam Pedals?

The Gen 2 Loam Pedals are a complete redesign. There are many exciting improvements:

  • The Gen 2 Loam pedals feature the Tectonic™ Pin system.
  • The Gen 2 Loam pedals are much easier to service due to the Tectonic™ Pin system and PNW’s new cartridge axle system.
  • The Gen 2 Loam pedals are CNC’d aluminum, rather than forged.
  • The Gen 2 Loam pedal has a redesigned shape that better accommodates multiple foot placements.
  • The Gen 2 Loam pedals are 25 grams lighter than Gen 1.

What is the Tectonic™ Pin system?

  • Stainless steel patented Tectonic™ traction pins offer incredible grip, durability, and ease of maintenance. The Tectonic™ pin system reduced our pin count from 22 to 12 pins per pedal. The pins run vertically through the pedal body and are easily replaced with outboard 2.5mm set screws. Replacing all pins is much faster than traditional systems, and if a pin is severely thrashed during a moment of shred, it’s still easily replaceable. Tectonic™ traction pins are patented by Tectonic Components of Colorado, USA.

Is it easy to service the Gen 2 Loam Pedals?

  • They’re extremely simple to service. The 18mm cartridge nut can be cracked open with common tools like a fixed or adjustable crescent wrench, socket wrench, channel locks, etc. Once the cartridge is removed, the 8mm axle nut can also be removed with any one of those basic tools. Removing the axle nut gains access to the two sealed cartridge bearings and single bushing inside the cartridge. A full teardown is possible in minutes without specialized tools.

How are the Gen 2 Loam Pedals constructed?

  • The pedal platform is CNC’d and finished with laser-etched details.

Can I use the Gen 2 Loam Pedals for DH riding or on my e-bike?

  • Yes, and we encourage it. The Gen 2 Loam Pedals are EFBE Category 5 certified, meaning they are good to go for the most aggressive riding, including e-bikes and DH riding.

Do the pedals come with extra pins?

  • Yes, in the package you’ll find a small parts envelope with 2x Tectonic pins, 2x set screws, and 2x pedal washers.

Great value for the price, highly recommend
Color: Dogwood & Calming, Size: Medium
Our dog loves these and chews them down to nothing. They are a great value for the money and the use your dog gets out of them. The size is just right for our doberdor.

Our dog loves it but it wasn’t durable enough to last
Color: Dogwood Jack, Size: Large, Color: Dogwood Jack, Size: Large
Our lab took to it as soon as we gave it to her. Perfect size for our 80 lb yellow lab. However, now that it’s in about 10 days, she’s able to break off chunks from this bone that are dime size or larger, and we have to throw it away

My Dogs Love Them!
Color: Dogwood & Calming, Size: Medium
My dogs love these. I have Corgis and a Border Collie. They are aggressive at chewing. These last well and my dogs love them. I've purchased these many times!

Long lasting and safer alternative to sticks
Color: Dogwood & Calming, Size: Medium
These are great, very durable, and have lasted a very long time. Much safer for my dogs than the random sticks they find in the yard. They do get shorter with chewing eventually, but they don't break off in little chunks like I've seen with some nylon chews, and they don't splinter like wood. Medium size works well for both my 16 lb Cavalier and my 60 lb Pyrenees/Golden mix. They're both moderate-to-aggressive chewers, though size obviously affects how much damage they can do. I wish you could buy the hemp chew separately because that one is very much a favorite in my house, so after 2 years and 2 purchases, I have barely any left of the remaining hemp chew, but still 2 of the dogwood chews that neither dog is as interested in anymore. I'd love to buy a couple more of just the hemp one.

Your dog will thank you.
Color: Dogwood & Fresh Breath, Size: Large
My dogs loves to chew on these. They make a small mess but not as bad as other chews. They are food for keeping teeth clean.
