About

A summery and beautiful summer dress, inspired by Parisian street style mixed with the shaping of a more modern Bridgerton style. This classic and versatile dress features a charming button-up front, making it the perfect choice for any occasion. Worked in an easy to wear bamboo yarn, and finished with a cute button up detail and tie up straps. Embrace a look that's both sophisticated and stylish with the Daphne Button Up Dress, and add to your DIY wardrobe.

The Daphne Button Up Dress is worked from the top down, beginning with the bust cup shaping and then working the body. The dress is worked back and forth in pattern until the desired length is reached, with and i-cord edging for the edges. The straps are picked up and worked in i-cord and tied up in a fashionable style.

Skill Level  Advanced Beginner/Intermediate

Materials

Suggested Needle

Tip: if you work with a plant based fibre (cotton or silk), I suggest cubic or ‘square’ knitting needles to help reduce fatigue when working with these yarns.

Suggested Yarn

Sample made in size XS with Hobbii Rainbow Bamboo (60% Bamboo Viscose 40% Cotton, 250 metres/273 yds, 100g).

4 (5) 6 (7) 7 (8) 10 (10) balls required if you want to use this yarn,

or

995 (1150) 1310 (1550) 1709 (1869) 2154 (2315) metres / 1088 (1258) 1433 (1695) 1869 (2044) 2356 (2532) yards of sport weight yarn.

I suggest a yarn which has bamboo/silk in order to have a lovely drape on the body.

Take note: The yardages shown are for a dress length that sits above the knee. Take into account if you’ll need more or less depending on the customisation of your HIP circumference preference and overall length.

Great for semi-experienced looking to build on knowledge.
Format: Paperback
Fantastic instructional manual if you already have some basic knowledge of anchors, ropework and climbing technique. It is written as an instructional manual for climbers looking to turn into guides so if you're brand new this probably isn't the best option for you.

Clear, straight forward, and authoritative
Format: Paperback
Excellent, straightforward information about how to stay safe at the crag. Every guy who's put his hand on a rock has an opinion about how to set anchors, belay, etc -- this book gives you the answers on how to do things the right way. Spend the 10 or 15 bucks and read the book. It might save your life.
