This silhouette and entire aesthetic is SO classic Givenchy— this fitted drop-waist bodice is something he revisited time and time again throughout his storied career. It features a long sleeve fitted (silk-blend) velvet bodice, with a dropped basque waist, peplum, and ruffled collar. The ruffle at the collar can be steamed to stand more upward, or pressed down, depending on what you prefer— the material is easy to manipulate, and stays in place. The full skirt has a great sweep to it. The demi-couture construction and attention to detail is evident in every part of this dress. It closes with jewel buttons down the front, with additional hidden snaps/hooks at the top of the skirt, and hidden zippers at the cuffs.
