Strong Family Protection ā With Some Minor TradeāOffs

Iāve been using OFF! Insect Repellent Aerosol for Adults & Kids (FragranceāFree / Picaridin variant, 5 oz) for outdoor family time, and overall itās been a solid choice. Hereās how it stacks up:
š What Works Really Well
1. Good protection, kidāfriendly too
The formula is designed for both adults and children ages 1 year and up, when used as directed. For kids between 1 and 10 years, usage is limited (you donāt want to overapply).
It does a strong job of keeping mosquitoes, ticks, and biting flies away. We spent hours outdoors and did not come back with a swarm of bites. ļæ¼
2. Feels pleasant ā nonāgreasy, low residue
A big plus: it doesnāt leave skin feeling sticky, oily, or greasy. Thatās always a win when youāve got wiggly kids who wonāt sit still for long. The scent is mild (especially in the fragranceāfree version), and it dries fairly quickly.
3. Long enough duration
You get about 6 hours of protection against mosquitoes (when applied properly). Thatās plenty for a few hours in the yard, a picnic, or a short hike.
4. Easy spray application
The aerosol format means you can cover exposed skin and clothing fairly quickly. Itās good for when you need fullābody coverage or youāre applying while kids are wriggly.
š What to Be Careful Of / Possible Downsides
1. Must follow directions carefully with young kids
Because the product is strong enough for adults, when using on young children (especially 1ā10 years old), it should be applied sparingly and no more than twice per day on kids. Avoid sensitive areas (eyes, mouth, hands).
2. Spray drift / inhalation concerns
Some users report that spray fumes are noticeable, and in some casesāespecially in confined spaces or windy conditionsāthe aerosol mist can get in kidsā faces or mouths, which is uncomfortable. Spraying in open air and avoiding spraying near the face helps.
3. Reapplication needed if in heavy perspiration or after swimming
Like most insect repellents, you lose effectiveness faster when the skin is wet, or when thereās lot of sweat, or after swimming. So youāll need to reapply more often under those conditions. Not unique to this product, but worth noting.
4. Aerosol form handling
Because itās aerosol, youāll want to handle with care. Spray evenness, avoiding overāspraying, and storing safely are important. Also: donāt let kids handle it by themselves.

If youāre looking for a reliable insect repellent thatās strong enough for adult use and safe enough for kids (1 year+), this OFF! aerosol is one of the better options out there. It hits a nice balance: effective, relatively gentle on skin, and convenient. For families who spend time outdoors ā hiking, camping, playing ā itās a worthwhile investment.
Iād give it 4 out of 5 stars: loses a bit for aerosol odor and needing care with application, but wins big on protection and usability.

Easy for kids to use
Size: 5 Ounce (Pack of 2)
My son uses this when he's outside because constantly gets bites. He's 7 and can spray it himself and no bites when he uses it. Would highly recommend. Does linger in the air after so I don't recommend using in the garage

Works well to prevent sunburn and stays on while working.

This sunscreen is great! I've worked outside in New Mexico sun for the past few years and this is a life saver. Goes on evenly and doesn't come off while I'm working in the heat.
