Red Swan is an open-pollinated variety of bean that produces tender, stringless beans with unique, red-colored pods.  Truly red varieties of green beans are hard to come by and this one does not disappoint.  Robust, bush-type plants produce early yields of delicious snap beans with tender, somewhat flattened pods.  Similar in form to a Roma bean, the Red Swan bean works well in any green bean application, and we enjoy them sauteed, boiled, and roasted.  We've even cooked them in foil packs on the grill!  The red beans do turn green when you cook them, but that just adds to the excitement.  All in all, this is a fun and productive red green bean variety for the home garden.  Matures approximately 55 days after sowing.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
