Planting Instructions:

Soil Preparation:

Choose an area with heavy, well-draining soil that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight each day. Remove weeds, large rocks, and litter from the planting area. Leave small weeds and dead grass, they will enrich the soil when turned under. Spade or till the soil 8-12 inches deep. Loosening the soil will help the plant establish strong roots.

Plants grow best in soil with lots of organic matter. You may optionally add fertilizer or organic material such as compost, leaves, or rotted hay to mix into the soil at this point. For small gardens, scatter 2-3 tablespoons of fertilizer evenly and work into the top 2-3 inches of soil for each hill or 2 foot by 2 foot planting area. For larger gardens, scatter 2-3 pounds of a complete fertilizer for each 100 square feet of planting area. Work fertilizer or organic material into the soil and leave the surface smooth.

Form rows of soil beds 4-6 inches high and at least 18 inches apart. This formation of ridges will help with drainage.

Planting:

Starting Indoors: For earlier blooms, you may optionally cold-stratify Money Plant seeds for at least 30 days then start planting indoors in containers 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost date in Spring, keeping seedlings at least 65F. Harden off then transplant seedlings outdoors in a sunny location when temperatures are consistently above 60F. To transplant seedlings, prepare a transplant hole outdoors in a sunny location. Remove the plants carefully from the pots or flats and set them in the transplant holes, burying some of the stem in the ground. Pack the soil loosely around the plant and leave a slightly sunken area around each plant to hold water. Water the plants after transplanting.

Directly Sowing: If directly sowing outdoors, plant after the first hard frost in early Spring to cold-stratify seeds. Plants will germinate in late Spring when the soil warms to at least 60F. Fall planting is not recommended unless planting outdoors in environments with mild, frost-free winters, or planting indoors with supplemental grow lights. For blooms in late Spring of the following year, sow outdoors after the first hard frost in Fall to cold-stratify seeds.

To plant, make holes 1/4 inch deep and spaced 12-18 inches apart down the rows of raised beds. Plant 1-3 seeds per hole, then cover thinly with soil. If choosing to thin, plant 2-3 weeds per hole, then remove plants to narrow to the strongest single plant per hole fter seedlings come up. Water after planting.

Planting Depth: 1/4 inch
Within-Row Spacing: 12-18 inches
Between-Row Spacing: 18-24 inches

Care During the Season:

Watering: Water the plants deeply, soaking the soil to a depth of 6-8 inches, once a week. If there is no rainfall, water 2-3 times a week. Sandy soils may need to be watered more often than heavy clay soils.

Weeding: Keeping plants weed-free improves production. If plowing or hoeing, do not dig deeper than 1 inch to prevent from cutting the feeder roots.

Fertilizing: Once seedlings are established, 2-4 weeks after planting, you may optionally add a complete fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. Read and follow fertilizer instructions for best application. Water plants after fertilizing.

Insecticides: Insecticides may be used to protect plants. Bt-based insecticides and sulfur are organic options that can be used for prevention. Sulfur also has fungicidal properties and helps in controlling many diseases. Before using a pesticide, read the label and follow cautions, warnings and directions.

Diseases: If spots or mold appear, treat plants with an approved fungicide. Neem oil, sulfur, and other fungicides may be used. When using fungicides always follow label directions.

Harvesting:

To harvest Money Plant for its decorative "silver dollar" seed pods, wait until the pods have fully matured and dried on the plant, typically in late summer to early fall of the second year or growth. In the first year, Money Plant blooms showy purple and white flowers. The outer layers of the pods will first appear green, then turn brown as they dry. Once they are completely dry, cut the stems at the base using pruning shears or scissors. To reveal the silvery, translucent inner layer, gently rub or peel away the outer brown husks of the seed pods. This can be done by hand or by lightly shaking the stems. Once cleaned, the silver-dollar-like discs can be used in dried floral arrangements or crafts. Store them in a dry place to prevent moisture damage and maintain their delicate appearance.

Beautifully Made
Format: Leather Bound
This Bible is absolutely beautiful and feels very high quality. The natural brown leather has a classic, timeless look, and the flap with the strap closure is a really nice touch that makes it feel both elegant and practical. It keeps everything protected and gives it a unique design compared to standard Bibles. The journaling layout is one of my favorite parts. The margins are wide enough for notes, reflections, prayers, and study thoughts without making the pages feel too crowded. The paper is fairly thin, as expected with most Bibles, but I was pleasantly surprised that there was minimal bleed-through when using pens that aren’t overly heavy. It’s been great for both personal study and devotional time. Overall, this is a gorgeous journaling Bible that feels thoughtfully made. It would make a wonderful personal Bible or a meaningful gift for someone who enjoys note-taking, Bible study, or journaling alongside Scripture.

Not quite premium, but a very nice Bible
Format: Leather Bound, Format: Leather Bound
I’m a Bible snob and I have a few issues with this Bible, but it’s currently listed at around $77 on sale and many of my Bibles are $150+ so I’ve still given it 5 stars as it is a nice Bible and very reasonable quality for the price. If it’s what you are looking for, I would not hesitate to recommend it. My issues: Page thickness and opacity. The pages (especially for a journaling Bible) could be a tad thicker and more opaque. That being said, certainly not the worst I’ve seen and they are passable. The paper does have a really nice softness, that’s almost cotton feeling (and less tissue paper feeling) - which I do like. No line matching. Many premium quality Bibles will line match the text on the front and back of the page to limit the distraction of text that shows through the pages. This Bible is definitely not line matched. The cover design is not overly practical for travel. The leather strap is meant to be tied in a knot. There is also a bump on the back where the pen holding elastic is installed inside the cover. Both of these feel like they will easily catch and cause uneven wear if you plan to carry it in a book bag with other flat things. Things I like: The pages feel nice. Having a real leather cover does feel nicer than a flimsy cover It lays really nice. The text is small but the layout is compact and clean looking. The limited footnotes are a mix of translation notes, contextual notes (like measurement conversions), and references. They are very brief and limited notes, but I like the hybrid of information. The ESV translation, while not my favorite as it tends to be a little more evangelical, is a very solid translation and used by many churches. Overall it’s a nice Bible and I could easily see it being a companion in someone’s faith journey for many years to come with a leather cover that will age beautifully and space to keep notes and thoughts along the way.

Useful Bible for Taking Notes or Writing Out Prayers in Response All in an Attractive Format
Format: Leather Bound
First off, I won’t be reviewing and evaluating “the Bible”, because the Bible is supposed to evaluate you, confront you, call you, and claim you for God. So, whether you read this edition or another, let God’s Word teach, woo, and draw you to Him! As for this edition of the ESV, as some have noted, the font is on the smaller size, but still readable for most (your results may vary!). As it is a journaling Bible, on each page is a wide lined section for you to take study notes or sermon notes, make comments, write out prayers in response or whatever use you want to make of it. If you are new to God’s Word, the publishers have included some helps in the introductory matter, including a page on ‘Why Read the Bible?’ and several pages on ‘What the Bible says about...’, covering various topics and where to find them in Scripture. There are introductions for both the Old Testament and the New Testament. And after the end of the Scripture texts (Revelation), the publishers have also included some helpful resources like, ‘God’s Plan to Save You’, ‘Introductions to each book of the Bible’ and a plan to read through the Bible in a year. The leather has a very nice feel to it and (I hope) will wear and age well. The strap is new for me, but it was pretty easy to use to keep the Bible closed. (Maybe it’s just me, but it’s a little odd having such a long strap hang while I’m reading it!). There is also a leather loop inside to keep a pen handy for your note taking and journaling. By the way, the size is a little unique, as it is almost square, so it might be an awkward carry, and I would guess for women that it might only fit in a really large purse. Overall, if you want a Bible to use for more in-depth study and to take notes on what you find, this might be a good choice for you.

Nice quality ESV 2 column Bible
Format: Leather Bound
Nice soft cover. It is smaller than the hardcover ESV journaling bible I have, which isn't necessarily a problem. This is also a two column bible. The font is 7pt, so it is fairly small. It's also fairly squarish at about 6.5x7.5inches. The strap comes separate, which is nice because if you don't want to have to tie and untie your Bible every time you want to open it, you can just leave it off. There is only one ribbon, but I honestly tend to use bookmarks more than ribbons anyway. There is also a pen loop inside to hold a normal-sized pen (probably won't fit a large one) Content - Ownership page - not dedication, just this Bible belongs to - An invitation to the journaling Bible - Copyright page - printed in China, 2001 version - Contents - Why Read the Bible - 1 page - What the Bible Says About - 5.5 pages giving scripture references for various topics - Preface - Standard ESV Preface - Explanation of Features - short 1-page note about things like textual footnotes and cross-reference footnotes - The Old Testament - 2 page introduction followed by the text - The New Testament - 2 page introduction followed by the text - Plan of Salvation - just over 3 pages - Introductions to the Books of the Old Testament - It seems weird that they are at the end and not with the actual books. There are about 5 introductions per page, so they are really short - Introductions to the Books of the New Testament - Same note as above. Is it really an introduction if it is at the end? - Through the Bible in a Year Reading Plan - Daily dated reading plan that includes OT, Psalms, and NT each day. It will have you read through the OT once, Psalms twice, and NT twice

Works great, easy to assemble.
Size: 2 Tier-9.5''Wx10.5''Dx9.5''H
I bought this to try and contain our cabinet clutter. It works really well. Was easy to assemble. I use it on the countertop instead of inside of the cabinets. Looks nice enough to sit out. Will buy 1 more in the coming days. The storage areas pull out, makes for easy access.
