Because of its slower speed of growth, this tree will look smaller than other shade trees of a similar caliper, but the payoff is large. White Oak is always a great choice in the landscape and is great for attracting wildlife, and this native tree is resistant to powdery mildew.
Where to put it:
White Oak should be planted in open areas in the back or front yard, at least 15-20ft away from buildings.
What it needs:
White Oak is an extremely tolerant tree which can grow in almost any conditions, preferring Full sun and moist, well-drained acidic soil.
