Echeveria 'Blue Bird' is a beautifully symmetrical succulent with soft, powdery blue foliage and a neat rosette shape. A hybrid variety within the Crassulaceae family, it shares ancestry with Echeveria species native to Mexico, where many evolved under sunny, rocky conditions. 'Blue Bird' forms a single, tight rosette of thick leaves coated in a fine layer of farina, a natural wax that gives the plant its pale, pastel appearance. In bright light, the leaves often take on a silvery-blue tone, sometimes blushing pink at the edges during cooler seasons.
The rosette of the Blue Bird can grow up to 6 to 10 inches wide, with leaves that are broad, pointed, and slightly upturned at the tips. Its uniform, open shape and subtle coloring give it a soft, elegant look compared to more rigid or heavily textured succulents. Mature plants may occasionally produce a tall flower stalk bearing small coral or salmon-pink blooms, although Blue Bird is mainly admired for the beauty of its foliage. The flower spikes add a delicate touch, rising gracefully above the main rosette without disrupting the plant's clean lines.
Compared to similar varieties like Echeveria 'Blue Prince', Blue Bird has a softer, paler color and a more open, airy rosette structure. While Blue Prince tends to have darker, tighter rosettes, Blue Bird maintains a lighter and wider form, giving it a more ethereal presence in succulent displays. Both plants share a powdery coating, but Blue Bird appears more pastel and delicate overall.
Because of its size, form, and delicate color, Echeveria 'Blue Bird' is often used as a centerpiece in succulent bowls or as a gentle contrast among darker or more textured plants. It thrives with good light and minimal watering, making it easy to care for in the right conditions. Like most Echeverias, it does best when left relatively undisturbed, allowing its rosette to develop fully without crowding from nearby plants.
-
Prefers bright, direct to very bright indirect light for best color and compact growth. Insufficient light can cause the rosette to stretch and lose its shape.
Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry, making sure to avoid watering directly into the rosette to prevent rot. Reduce watering significantly during the cooler months.
Adapts best to low to moderate indoor humidity. High humidity can increase the risk of fungal issues, especially if air circulation is poor.
Grows best between 65–80°F. Protect from frost, as freezing temperatures can damage or kill the plant.
Needs a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix with added perlite or coarse sand. Good drainage is essential to prevent root and crown rot.
Feed lightly once or twice during the growing season with a diluted, low-nitrogen fertilizer. Overfeeding can cause leggy growth and weaken the plant.
Echeveria 'Blue Bird' is considered non-toxic to pets and humans. Still, it’s best to discourage pets from chewing on any plant.

If you like ash in your face and then wash it off: this is your product
Color: Dark
This is EXTREMELY dark, yet it looks like Ash in the face. Besides, if you don't wash your hands INMEDIATLEY the COLOR will stick to it for the rest of the day, regardless how often you wash them then. If you then, wash the hand as - never advised by the product description - QUICKLY, you risk to get streaks in your face.
Although, passing the pain of filthy looking hands and sleeping overnight with the product, THEN wash your face you have a slight tan. Just like going shopping, and getting a regular product with a GRATIS slap in the face. Congrats!
Much prefer L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer, cheaper and efficient. Downside (or upside, depends on taste) your skin (may use on the whole body) stays sparkly for one day. The tan, though lasts quite a bit. Nivea Sunkissed Beautiful Legs (you may apply on all the body, your arms will not complain being slightly tanned) gives you a slight tan, smells ok, yet if you wish to keep the already slight tan, one must apply it again and again each day.

Good color but not worth the effort..
I was disappointed. I've used all kinds of self tanners and this one was the most difficult of any. I know the proper way to apply them.. This didn't blend evenly no matter the effort. I was left with major streaks. Had to throw it out. HOWEVER, I did like the color it developed.. I wish it'd been different..

Finally, a Volufiline Product That Isn’t Just a Tiny Sprinkle in the Formula
I bought this because I have been trying to find a Volufiline product that actually makes sense. There has been so much hype around Volufiline lately, but a lot of products only include a tiny amount and then market it like it is the main feature. That is why this one caught my attention. The Ordinary is clearly stating 92% Volufiline with 1% Palmitoyl Isoleucine, so this feels much more direct and less gimmicky than many of the products I have tried.
As someone with 52-year-old post-menopausal dry mature skin, I am realistic about what a product like this can and cannot do. This is not going to reverse time, rebuild your face, lift sagging skin, or create permanent volume. That is not how topical skincare works. But if you are looking for a targeted product that can give a temporary plumper, smoother-looking effect in certain areas, this is one of the better Volufiline options I have used.
The texture feels more like a lightweight oil-serum than a watery serum. Because of that, I personally prefer using it over moisturizer or mixing a small amount into a cream before applying it to the areas where I want that softer, fuller look. I would not just smear this all over my face like a normal serum. It works best as a targeted product.
Ingredient-wise, the formula is intentionally simple. Volufiline itself is based on Anemarrhena asphodeloides root extract in an oil-soluble base, and this also includes Palmitoyl Isoleucine, which fits the plumping/skin-conditioning concept. The fact that this is not padded with a long list of filler ingredients is part of why I like it. It feels focused.
I also like that it is fragrance-free. That matters to me because products used around expression lines, cheeks, and delicate areas can become irritating quickly if they are loaded with fragrance. I did not find this irritating, but the box does mention that a slight tingling can happen, so patch testing makes sense.
In terms of results, I noticed more of a temporary cosmetic smoothing and plumping effect than a dramatic transformation. That is exactly what I expected. It makes certain areas look a little softer and less dry-looking, especially when used with a good moisturizer. For mature skin, that can make a real visual difference, even if it is not structural or permanent.
Who may like this? Someone who has been curious about Volufiline but wants a more concentrated, straightforward formula instead of a cream that barely contains any. Also someone who understands that this is about temporary cosmetic plumping and skin softness, not actual facial reshaping.
Who may not like it? If you dislike oil-based textures, want instant dramatic volume, or expect filler-like results, this will probably disappoint you.
Overall, I really like this. It is one of the few Volufiline products I have tried that feels honest about what it is, and the higher concentration makes it more appealing than many of the overhyped options out there.

Promising Skincare Product with Clean Ingredients
I have always loved this brand and have purchased many of their skincare products in the past, so I was excited to try their Volufiline after seeing how popular it has become on TikTok. A lot of people online claim it helps plump the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without needing injections, which definitely caught my attention. For the price, I think it is a pretty reasonable product if it actually delivers results.
From what I understand, this is not a product that gives instant results and it can take at least three months or longer of consistent use before you really notice a difference. Because of that, I cannot honestly say yet whether it works or not, but I plan to continue using it and will update my review over time if I start seeing visible changes. I also purchased a separate roller ball attachment for the bottle because it makes application much easier and more precise.
Without the roller attachment, you would mostly be applying the product with your fingers, which can apparently cause your fingers themselves to become plumper from repeated contact. As always, one of the things I appreciate most about this brand is the transparency and focus on clean ingredients. Their products always feel thoughtfully formulated, and I like knowing exactly what I am putting on my skin. Overall, I am hopeful about this product and excited to see the long-term results.

Good skincare. Just okay for wrinkles and fine lines
I’m not sure it’s filling in wrinkles but it’s not hurting either. I kind of think once your a certain age there isn’t a lot of change that happens with surface level products. It’s kind of more about slowing the aging process versus reversing it. Reversing may only happen in a surgeons office or by treatment from a medical esthetician. That being said I do think this product is offering me support by slowing down the aging process and reducing new lines and wrinkles. My skin definitely has a dewy appearance after using this product. The product is lightweight and goes on like a light oil. It is a tad greasy when it’s first applied but it does absorb well. I try to put this on when I have time to let it absorb a little but I have also been in a rush and had to go straight into makeup application after using. I didn’t have any issues with the quick transition. As with most of the Ordinary line the prices are economical for skincare. I give this 4 stars only because I didn’t really see a change/improvement in my current fine lines and wrinkles. I do think overall it’s offering some benefits. The bottle is small but the amount needed per application is small. You have to shake the product out of a little restricter cap which is kind of annoying. I think a tiny dropper would make for better dispensing and less waste. As with all my facial serums and skincare products, I always rub any remaining product on the tops of my hands.
