How Much Rose-Tone Should You Use?
- Individual Roses: Apply 1.25 cups around each rose and scratch the fertilizer into the top inch of soil
- Rose Beds: Broadcast 6 lbs. per 100 square feet of bed area. Scratch the fertilizer into the top inch of soil.
How to Apply Your Rose-Tone
Bare Root Roses:
Dig a hole about 12” across and 18” deep. Add peat moss and 3 cups of Rose-tone to the soil removed and mix thoroughly. Use this mixture to refill the hole partially. Make a cone of soil to place the plant on. Spread the roots evenly. Planting depth should be such that the graft knuckle is below ground level. Add 4 to 5 inches of soil and firm around the roots. Fill the hole to within 2 to 3 inches of the top, fill with water and let it soak in. Finish filling hole.
Potted Roses:
Some pre-packaged roses should be planted in their original container. Follow instructions on the container to determine if the plant should be removed or planted with the container.
