Anthurium Black Diamond
Anthurium regale × Anthurium luxurians

A named hybrid combining A. regale — the large-scale Peruvian species with its broadly cordate velvety leaves and prominent venation — with A. luxurians, the Colombian species known for its deeply bullate, lacquer-glossy, three-dimensionally quilted surface. The cross brings together regale's scale and architectural leaf presence with luxurians' intense surface texture, producing large, dark leaves with pronounced bullate quilting and a near-black mature coloration that gives the hybrid its name. New leaves emerge in warm bronze tones before darkening. A frequently used parent in further multi-lineage anthurium crosses.

  • Light: Bright but soft indirect light maintains the dark coloration and protects the velvet-bullate surface from bleaching. Avoid direct sun.

  • Soil: Very open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir; luxurians lineage is particularly prone to root rot in waterlogged conditions. Excellent drainage essential.

  • Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; high humidity of 70-85% is essential for maintaining the glossy bullate surface and clean leaf emergence.

  • Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.

  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer supplemented with calcium every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.

Beautiful in a window seat
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White, Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
This is soft, pure white, and of decent quality for my purposes. I saw a photo of one used in a window seat so that's where mine is white 3 lumbar pillows on the sides and back of the seat. The size is perfect. It's a little bigger than my seat so I could use the tape to pin one side to each wall and also over the seat. I guess it all depends on what you are using it for to determine if you'll like it. I have a large sheepskin rug in another room. This one in my opinion is too skinny to be used as a rug. I haven't detected a smell at all.

It's real!
Size: 2' x 3' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
Off white but totally happy. Even though it's wool, it doesn't itch and is very soft. The patches are few and not at all noticeable from front. Very thick and looks great!

Nice and fluffy, the color is a bit lighter
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Light Brown
Pretty and fluffy. Wishing the color were a bit darker so it matched my decor better. It’s hard to tell what color you’ll actually get 🫤 Not ideal but doable.

Beautiful rug but smelly when you first unpack it.
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
Beautiful quality. Deep thick fur. The "patches" are noting more than where 4 or 5 inch splits, one at each end were stitched back together. I wouldn't have even called them patches. They are the same stitching as used to join the two pelts in the middle. The color is a very clean white. Being natural pelt, I was really expecting something a little more blond. I've bought New Zealand sheepskin several times before and I don't doubt this is Aussie or Kiwi sheepskin but I didn't notice this is processed in China before I bought it. Still, the only complaint I had was a strange chemical smell when I unwrapped it. It didn't smell like the tanning chemicals from previous pelts. But it's gone away after 3 weeks so I guess all's good.
