Aglaonema 'Pearl'

Fine silver flecks are clearest up close on Aglaonema 'Pearl'. The dark green leaves carry small pale marks and short streaks, so the leaf surface looks deeper green from a distance and more silvered up close.

This cultivar grows upright from short stems and forms a dense clump of overlapping leaves. Pale stems or petioles sit beneath the darker leaf surface.

Aglaonema 'Pearl' fine silver leaf pattern

  • Leaf colour: Dark green leaves carry fine silver specks and short pale streaks.
  • Pattern style: Small markings sit across the leaf surface, creating a fine silver pattern.
  • Leaf shape: Smooth, pointed leaves overlap as the clump fills out.
  • Stem detail: Pale stems or petioles can lighten the lower part of the plant.
  • Growth habit: Short stems build a compact upright clump with a dense leaf arrangement.

Aglaonema 'Pearl' compact leaf structure

Aglaonema 'Pearl' develops gradually from the centre, adding new leaves above the older outer foliage. Its fine patterning stays subtle from further away, while the silver flecks become clearer at close range.

The darker leaf base handles medium indirect light, while the pale specks still need protection from harsh sun. Warm roots and a draining mix keep the short stems firm after watering.

Aglaonema 'Pearl' care

  • Light: Place Aglaonema 'Pearl' in medium to bright filtered indirect light. Direct sun can scorch the marked leaf surface.
  • Watering: Water after the upper substrate has dried. A pot that stays wet can yellow leaves and weaken lower stems.
  • Substrate: Use a well-draining houseplant mix with air pockets around the roots.
  • Temperature: Keep the plant away from cold draughts and chilled wet substrate.
  • Humidity: Average indoor humidity is usually tolerated, but very dry air can crisp new edges.
  • Grooming: Remove tired lower leaves cleanly when they have fully yellowed.

Aglaonema 'Pearl' leaf symptoms

  • Yellow lower leaves: Check the root zone for slow drainage, a dense mix or repeated watering too soon.
  • Brown speckled areas: Direct sun, hot glass or irregular watering can mark pale leaf tissue.
  • Soft stems: Cold wet substrate can damage roots and weaken the base.
  • Long petioles: Very dim placement can stretch the plant and open the clump.
  • Dry tips: Missed waterings, low humidity or mineral build-up may be involved.

Aglaonema 'Pearl' safety

Aglaonema 'Pearl' contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept away from pets and small children. Chewed leaves or stems can irritate the mouth and throat and may cause drooling, vomiting or swallowing discomfort.

Great toy. Definitely worth it.
Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug, Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug
This is a great toy. I bought this for my dachshund, and it's still going strong after 2.5 years. The string part came off after a few months, but that's fine. This is always her go-to toy.

Perfect so far!
Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug
My dog has a habit of tearing up toys in just a few minutes, so far, this toy has lasted a few days, the rope is already showing signs of wear. I wish there was a way to attach a new rope when this one goes... She is a mid-sized dog with a LOT of energy, and she's very destructive, digging, chewing on things she's not supposed to, etc. This helps with that, she can play with it for a long time, we don't have to always 'check' to see if she is tearing something up. She loves grabbing it by the rope and swinging it around the sides of her head, it doesn't hurt her, and she LOVES this toy. Out of ALL of the toys that we have bought her, and that she loved, THIS ONE has been top dog to her. We love watching her play with it, it also wears her out and she'll then take a nap, which is always good. Oh yeah, the size if PERFECT for a mid-sized to a large dog, I'm not sure about any smaller dogs. She can squeak the squeaker on it fine too, but not at first, she had to 'find out' how to do it on her own. As far as chewing it into little pieces like one person has said, I can't attest to that, and I hope that is not the case. I will return if she does end up chewing it into pieces, because she in known far and wide for that! :)

Fun, but not for aggressive chewers
Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug
My dog really enjoyed this toy. However, not a you for an aggressive chewer. Was in pieces in 20 minutes.

Large adult aggressive chewer? No. Puppy? Yes
Pattern Name: Classic Squeaky Tug
My large adult dog who is an aggressive chewer got this toy in pieces within minutes, BUT this is a great toy for a lighter touched dog. When I got my newest addition (Malinois mix puppy. Pls thoughts and prayers for me), this toy came to mind because she loves chewing and she’s only 11 weeks old! She needed an interesting toy that is sturdy and won’t hurt her teeth or gums, but is still interesting (the rope piece and the squeaker). She’s not nearly as rough of a chewer as my older guy YET. But when she gets bigger, she will more than likely destroy this. She is almost 20lbs at 11 weeks right now, so I will update if she does destroy it. Long story short: Not good for large aggressive chewers, good for aggressive chewers on the smaller side (maybe 15-30lbs)
