Introducing the low-maintenance trailing pink panther plant– also known as Callisia repens' Pink panther', is sure to turn heads. This pink panther plant was previously categorized under the genus Tradescantia; it's possible that some websites are using the name "Tradescantia Callisia repens." The correct scientific name for the plant is Callisia repens pink panther, because it has since been reclassified under the genus CallisiaGo to Callisia.

The Pink Panther plant is named after the famous Pink Panther cartoon character, which resembles the pink stripes on its green leaves. It also has several other common names, such as pink lady turtle vine, tradescantia pink panther, pink turtle vine, Callisia pink panther, or Callisia tricolor.

The image features the Pink Panther Plant with its variegated pink, purple, and green foliage, cascading gracefully over the pot in a soft, trailing form.

The cool part is its vibrant pink leaves with a mix of pink, green, and white stripes, making the pink panther plant a popular choice among indoor plant enthusiasts for its unique appearance and ease of care.

It's perfect for tiny spaces like your home, office, or even your desk.

This tropical houseplant is like a burst of joy with its stunning, small lavender-green leaves that turn bright pink and variegate in bright sunlight, with a velvety texture that adds to their appeal.

The foliage is densely packed along the stems, creating a lush and cascading effect when grown in hanging baskets or allowed to trail down from shelves or tabletops.

Your pink panther plant, with its reddish stems, can grow up to 12 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Its delicate but vibrant leaves puff out and shoot off consistently, giving your space a lush and beautiful touch in no time.

The flowers of the pink panther plant bloom during the summer, with tiny white flowers. However, it's worth noting that the Pink Panther plant is primarily grown for its striking foliage rather than its blooms.

The Callisia repens pink panther plant is distinguished by the striking golden leaves of Callisia repens GoldGo to Callisia repens gold turtle vine and a unique combination of pink and green variegated leaves of the Pink Lady Callisia repens variegated.

When and How to Water Your Pink Panther Plant

The Pink Panther plant is drought-tolerant, which means it can go for extended periods without water once established. However, to keep it thriving, especially in containers, it’s best to follow the “soak and dry” method: give the plant a deep, thorough watering, then allow the soil to completely dry out before watering again. The trailing pink panther prefers watering once every 2-3 weeks and once a month in the dormant season.

In spring and summer, during the growing season, water once every 2-3 weeks, or whenever the top inch of soil feels dry. Use a water meter or your finger to test moisture levels. Always ensure the plant is in porous, well-draining soil and placed in a container with drainage holes to prevent standing water and root rot.

In fall and winter, during dormant period, the plant enters a dormant period and requires watering once a month. If kept outdoors, withhold watering during rainy spells or cold snaps. Indoors, reduce watering to only when the soil is completely dry. Overwatering during dormancy is one of the most common causes of root rot.

Light Requirements - Where to Place Your Pink Panther Plant

When grown indoors, the pink panther plant also requires brighter, indirect light for at least 6-8 hours a day.

Placing it near a north or east-facing window is usually ideal. Avoid exposing the plant to direct, intense sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.

If you don't have access to ample natural light, you can also use artificial grow lights, such as fluorescent or LED lights, to provide the necessary light for the Callisia repens pink panther plant's growth.

When grown outdoors, the Pink Panther plant enjoys partial shade or dappled sunlight. These plants require at least 4-6 hours of strong light each day to survive, although partial shade in the afternoon is often preferable - especially in hotter climates where the plant might become stressed by the intense heat of the afternoon sun.

In bright light, its lavender-green leaves turn pink and variegated, making it a true showstopper. It's crucial to place your pink panther succulents away from any areas with constant direct sunlight, as doing so could result in burned foliage.

If the pink panther plant is not getting enough light, it may become leggy, which means that the stems will become long and thin, and the leaves may lose their variegated color. To prevent this, it's important to keep the plant in a location where it can receive plenty of light, but not direct sunlight.

Optimal Soil & Fertilizer Needs

Callisia requires a fast-draining potting mix that dries completely between waterings, and should be fertilized once a year in spring. The pink panther likes very airy, porous, nutrient-rich soil with a pH of 5.6- 6.5. Your soil must have a sandy texture and a low water-holding capacity, just like desert soil. Ideally, you want to use our specialized succulent potting mix that contains 5 natural substrates and organic mycorrhizae to promote the development of a strong root system that helps your succulent to thrive.

When it comes to fertilizer, a small amount of water-soluble fertilizer with lower doses of NPK (5-10-5) applied once a year in the springtime encourages branching and nutrient absorption. Remember, never fertilize your pink panther if it has recently been replanted or if it is experiencing problems, as it is not a medicine. Analyze the plant and make adjustments as needed.

Hardiness Zones & More

In the United States, your Callisia repens Pink Panther is mostly an indoor plant, but if you live in southern Florida or Hawaii, then you can cultivate it outdoors in USDA zones 10-12.

They are not cold- or frost-tolerant, so you should plant them indoors or put them in a pot and move them indoors during the winter if you live outside of these regions.

The Pink Panther plant appreciates moderate to high humidity levels, similar to its tropical origins. Aim for a humidity range of 50% to 60% for optimal growth. If the air in your home is dry, especially during winter months when indoor heating is used, you can increase humidity by placing a tray of water near the plant or using a humidifier. Misting the foliage occasionally can also help provide some moisture.

Remember, frost can damage the leaves, causing them to turn brown and lose their vibrant pink color.  It's important to protect the plant pink panther from further damage by keeping it in a warm place away from cold, drafty windows and air vents if you are growing it indoors in a cold climate.

How to Grow the Best Pink Panthers Plant Indoors

When grown indoors, the ideal temperature range for your Pink Panther is between 64°F and 72°F. It prefers a warm and cozy environment, so try to avoid exposing it to extreme temperature fluctuations or drafts. It should be fine even if the temperature drops to 50°F at night.

Wildlife - Pink Panther Plant Attracts the Following Friendly Pollinators

The Pink Panther Plant is known to attract a variety of friendly pollinators, including butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. These pollinators play a crucial role in the plant's reproduction process by transferring pollen from one flower to another, ultimately helping the plant to produce seeds and fruit.

Other Birds

According to ASPCA, the Pink Panther plant is considered mildly toxic to pets and humans if consumed. However, it is safe to touch and handle, making it a popular choice for indoor houseplants.

How to Propagate Your Pink Panther Plant

The Pink Panther plant can be propagated through stem cuttings. Take healthy stem cuttings, ensuring they have a few nodes, and remove the lower leaves. Place the cuttings in water or moist soil, providing them with indirect light and regular moisture. Over time, roots will develop, and you can transplant the cuttings into their own pots or a larger container.

Great Addition!
Color: Black
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I just started a powdered drink routine recently and was having a difficult time mixing it with water. I would consistently end up with small nuggets of mix making it unenjoyable to drink. I knew I needed a mixer and was glad I found this device when I did. It works perfectly! I like the fact that it comes with its own stand and included two mixing heads. It is solid, well-designed, and you can feel the quality when you pick it up. The variable speed of the mixer is perfect for ensuring that everything is blended well. I haven’t used it to “froth” anything yet, at least not on purpose, but I accidentally found out that it can do that well. This is a great addition to our kitchen and is very easy to wash after use. So far…no issues. Highly recommend for those of you looking for the right tool to make sure those protein mixes aren’t full of unmixed nuggets.

Low foam
Color: Black
Love this frother. It is great quality and the turn speed is amazing. My only issue is this. It comes w 2 wands and they are both singles. The single is great for stirring things up. It does not make a lot of froth and for some things it’s perfect but sometimes I like a lot of froth and I wish it either came w a single and a double or you could purchase a double separately to intermix. I don’t want to buy a whole other unit just for the double. I wrote to them bc the double frother they sell doesn’t look as good as this one but sometimes a girl needs a lot of foam and sometimes th stirring is perfect.

Still The Best Frother Ever!
Color: Black
I love how it is easy to use, how it holds a charge, and how much power it has. I've only charged it once since I got it & I've been using it on a daily basis!!! Though it isn't a long time, I'm happy with it so far! I definitely will recommend it to anyone looking for a great frother. If you are looking for one, look no further! You won't be disappointed! I've read some comments where they found it to be too strong that their drink spilled everywhere. But for me I have not had any incident of spilling over. I have used it both for my coffee and my matcha tea and it worked great without any spilling over. You just have to start with the lowest power and ensure that you have a large enough container to have a room for your frothing. My sister tried to use it recently during her visit to make us matcha tea. However, she experienced spillage all over the cup, because she had used a small cup. Otherwise, she liked it very much and said she will get one when her battery operated one stops working... Another thing I like about the product was the customer service that I had received. When I got my first order which came quickly, it wasn't working after having charged it over 24 hours. It was not turning on at all. I returned it and ordered a replacement which I received within a day or two. This time after charging it for the recommended amount of time, I was a bit skeptical when I turned it on. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it worked like it was supposed to and it has been working ever since having charged it only once so far. I may come back and give an update depending on how it does after 6 months of use, so keep in tune... I don't know if there is a way to write a new entry as a follow up to the old entry, so I'm going to add my follow up comment over here. May 23, 2025 - I love my frother more than I can say in words. It's functionality has not changed a bit from the time I have purchased it. It charge lasts several weeks to few months before I charge it again and the power is still the same. Recently I decided to buy another one for my office use. I like the white color and so tried it but that one wouldn't even turn on. And then I got a gray one to have a different color. That one was much weaker than the black one I own. Then I replaced it with another gray one within few days. I tried it and it was exactly the same as the one I already replaced. So then I decided to go with a black one again hoping that it would be the same as the one I have. The black one did much better than the gray ones in the strength or power of the frother. However, it is weaker than the one I already have been using since last August. While I am not very happy with the quality being inconsistent in all of the ones I have tried including the recent pictures of the black one, I have decided to keep the black one because it is relatively better than the gray ones I tried. What I don't understand is why there is inconsistency in the quality of the same product by the same maker. I am beginning to wonder if the black one I purchased in Augusta last year was anomaly of a quality and a good way. Maybe I lucked out on my older black frother, but I'm unsure if quality is going to get better if I were to order another one. I have a sister who is a pro in making coffee drinks and she was the reason I had ordered this frother to begin with. She uses a battery operated one at this time and I have been thinking about getting her one like mine. While I am still skeptical, I am going to give it a shot and order her one sometime soon. If it doesn't work, I guess we will return it back. But one thing that I am grateful is that I have been able to return every one of those that I have tried recently with no issues. I hope that I don't have to return my most recent purchase in black. I was not even able to review the new purchase because of the item being the same color which is crazy.

Outstanding Frother!
Color: Space Gray
Exceptional! This frother is in another league compared to the cheapo push button frothers. The motor is smooth, quiet and powerful. This has an intuitive thumb dial on top that operates smoothly with a wide range of smooth speed adjustment. It’s gentle enough to froth a little bit of milk for a macchiato and powerful enough to scramble 3 eggs. The head is removable for easy cleaning. It’s also rechargeable. I charged this the day I bought it on April first. I use it at least twice a day. It’s September 26th today and I have yet to recharge it and it’s not showing any signs of needing a charge. One minor quibble is that they give you 2 of the same frother heads. They are built so well, that I don’t imagine it ever wearing out. It would have been nice to get a whisk or something different. Not a deal breaker at all though.

Solid unit

Handheld Mixer/Frother Review A Premium Choice That Transforms Morning Coffee I am thoroughly impressed with this handheld mixer and frother. Each morning, I blend cacao and collagen powder into my coffee, and in the past, I always ended up with stubborn lumps using only a spoon or whisk. I had previously purchased a few inexpensive handheld mixers, but they disappointed me both in price and performance, struggling to mix the powders thoroughly—especially at the bottom of the cup. I came close to abandoning handheld mixers altogether, but decided to give it one last try. After reading countless reviews and carefully comparing models, I opted to invest in a higher-end handheld mixer. The anticipation was high—would this mixer truly distinguish itself from the budget options cluttering my kitchen drawer? From the moment I unboxed it, the difference was clear. The mixer felt substantial in my hand, and the build quality reflected thoughtful engineering. While this model cost roughly twice as much as the cheaper alternatives, it proved to be well worth the investment. Initially, I was concerned about the dial at the top, fearing it might be difficult to control. However, I was pleasantly surprised by its intuitive operation. The unit offers a solid feel, plenty of power, and a versatile range of speeds—from a gentle stir perfect for coffee to an impressively fast setting. I had not previously considered using this mixer as a frother, but as a cappuccino enthusiast, I decided to give it a try. I heated both 2% milk and oat milk to take the chill off, then submerged the mixing wand. Allowing the mixer to rise above the milk introduced air and created a rich, creamy foam—an unbelievable result. My homemade cappuccino now tastes like something from a café. The controls are robust, the construction is reliable, and the power is consistent. Cleanup is effortless, requiring only a quick rinse under the tap. The battery life is also noteworthy, lasting through several uses without losing strength. If you are hesitant to spend a bit more on a quality handheld mixer, I wholeheartedly recommend making the investment. This mixer has become an essential part of my morning routine. Excellent product—well done!
