Rhaphidophora decursiva is a vigorous climbing aroid known for its dramatic, deeply divided mature foliage. Juvenile plants begin with elongated, entire leaves that are glossy and mid-green. As the plant matures and climbs, the leaves become progressively pinnatifid, developing deep splits along the margins that give a palm-like appearance. Thick stems produce aerial roots that anchor the plant to supports as it grows upward.

Rhaphidophora decursiva is a fast-growing climber that benefits from a moss pole or sturdy support indoors. When given vertical space, it produces larger and more divided leaves over time. Without support, it will sprawl and leaves tend to remain smaller and less fenestrated. Its strong upward growth habit makes it perfect for growing indoors where height can be utilised.

Native to: Tropical Southeast Asia, including southern China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and parts of Indonesia. It grows in humid lowland and montane forests, climbing tree trunks in shaded understory conditions. Emerging leaves are typically lighter green before deepening in colour as they mature.

Water: Water when approximately the top third of the compost has dried out. Keep the growing medium evenly moist but well drained. Reduce watering slightly in winter, ensuring the root zone never remains saturated.

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. It tolerates moderate light, but leaf size and division improve with brighter conditions. Avoid strong direct midday sun through glass, which can scorch foliage.

Humidity: Prefers higher humidity, ideally 60–80% for optimal leaf development. It will grow in average indoor humidity but benefits from increased moisture in the air. Additional humidity encourages larger leaves with more pronounced splits.

Temperature: Thrives between 18–28 °C. Keep above 15 °C and avoid cold draughts. Consistent warmth supports steady growth throughout the year.

They keep coming back for more ..........
Size: 64 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: 64 oz Ready To Use
I've only been using this food for two weeks, but the hummingbirds love it so far. From what I've read, they are attracted to the color of the feeder more so than the smell of the nectar / food itself. With the amount of work that hummingbirds have to go through just to find enough food to survive, I figure it is worth the extra cost of this food compared to making plain sugar water that does not have the added minerals and electrolytes that this feed has to mimic real nectar.

Very good ... but beware.
Size: 64 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: 64 oz Ready To Use
First of all I just want to point out all of the reviews from people who claim that the bottle arrived damaged or open and in some cases ruined the other products shipped in the same box. Amazon will not issue a refund for that, which is absurd. My bottle arrived in good shape although the top was loose - not a big deal. The formula itself I find to be the best out there. I used to buy Pennington, which until this year was a deep red, now it is a light orange. The hummers will not stomach it. This product is better than the older version of the other brand. Taking one star off for all of those people who got a damaged bottle that would not be refunded.

Quickly accepted by our local hummingbirds.
Size: 64 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: 64 oz Ready To Use
I used this in a red hanging hummingbird feeder on a second-floor shaded balcony. The feeder had only been up a short time, and the nectar was accepted quickly. I observed hummingbirds visiting, perching, and drinking from the active lower tiers, so the product clearly did not discourage feeding. What I like most is the convenience. It is ready to pour, clear, and does not require mixing sugar and water. I also appreciate that it is not dyed red. The feeder itself provides enough red visual attraction, so colored liquid is not necessary. For a small balcony feeder, I only needed to fill the reservoirs about halfway, which helped keep the nectar fresh and reduced waste. A few practical notes: I still treat this like any hummingbird nectar and replace it regularly rather than letting it sit for many days. Even in shaded, mild weather, I would rather keep the feeder clean and fresh. The bottle should also be stored properly after opening. Overall, this is a good option if you want a simple ready-to-use nectar without mixing your own. Homemade sugar water is cheaper, but this is convenient, clean-looking, and in my case the hummingbirds used it. I would recommend it for someone who wants an easy pour-and-fill option, especially for a smaller feeder or balcony setup.

Hummingbirds love it… ants do too 🐦🐜
Size: 64 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: 64 oz Ready To Use
This nectar definitely does what it’s supposed to do — the hummingbirds found it fast and keep coming back, which is exactly what I wanted. It’s easy to use and convenient compared to mixing your own. The only downside is that ants seem to love it just as much as the birds. If you’re using this, I’d definitely recommend pairing it with an ant moat or being mindful of where you hang your feeder. Overall, it works great and brings in plenty of hummingbirds — just be prepared to outsmart a few tiny freeloaders along the way.
