I initially got so I can connect my monitor and my mouse to my MacBook Pro and that continues to be my main use for it. I’ve discovered it also works great at connecting to my iPad Air for extending the screen, mirroring, or using my mouse. It also works great for transferring data to other USB-C compatible devices like a Samsung phone! This thing has been reliable, I’ve used it to connect to external storage drives, SD cards, microSD cards. I keep finding new uses for it. It practically lives in my work bag all the time now. Also, I’ve only had it get somewhat warm like probably 2-3 times in my entire time of using it. The reason I come back to review after all these years is my younger sibling asked if they could have my adapter and I’ve never felt so firmly in saying absolutely not. I’m grateful that you can still buy this because a lot of things I’ve purchased on Amazon haven’t lasted. When you find something good like this, especially in this day where things are built to break, you can’t help but appreciate the things that are reliable and consistent.
