Anthurium 'Midnight Velvet' × papillilaminum is a striking velvet hybrid combining two very dark anthurium lines. The seed parent is a seed grown Midnight Velvet selected for its vigorous growth, rich velvet texture and deep colour. This plant is not from the original midnight velvet clone often associated with Foliage Freaks Plants, but from a seed grown line showing similar dark velvet traits.

The pollen parent is Anthurium papillilaminum from Living Art Store, known for its dramatic elongated leaf shape and intense dark tones. Together this cross produces seedlings with lush velvet foliage, strong structure and the potential for darker colour and more elongated leaf form as they mature.

These plants have been grown here in Tasmania by a specialist anthurium grower, @clementine_sunroom and are lovely young plants ready to continue developing in a collector’s indoor plant collection.
