Optica 10 L

Mapp No. 14373

Active Ingredients: Soluble concentrate containing 600 g/l (48% w/w) optically active isomer mecoprop-P, formulated as potassium salt

What is Optica?

Optica is a hormone selective herbicide which is absorbed by both shoots and roots and rapidly translocated within herbaceous plants.

What does Optica do?

Optica controls a wide range of broad-leaved weeds in amenity grassland and managed amenity turf.

Application Information

Managed Amenity Turf 2.4 L/ha 2 per year

Amenity Grassland

Timing of Application: The sward should not be topped for at least a week before or after spraying. A maximum of two applications per year are permitted.

Docks

Allow to flower in July and then cut the flower stalks before seeding to weaken root reserves. Wait two weeks and then apply the recommended rate of Optica. Docks will be severely checked but may recover, in which case the treatment should be repeated in the following season.

Common Chickweed

Treat when actively growing and not shielded by grass, usually late summer or autumn. If appreciable foliage is present there will be top growth suppression of weeds. When using a conventional sprayer apply in 185 - 330 litres of water per hectare. When applying through a knapsack sprayer use a minimum of 480 L water/ha.

Managed Amenity Turf

Rate of application: When using a conventional hydraulic sprayer apply 1.5 to 2.4 litres Optica in 185 to 400 litres of water per hectare. Use the higher volume on larger weeds or where weeds or crop are dense. When applying through a knapsack sprayer use a minimum of 480 L water/ha.

Time of application: Two applications of Optica can be made to managed amenity turf. For spring and summer sown turf, apply approximately 2 months after sowing. Turf sown or laid later in the year should not be treated until the following spring. For established turf, apply Optica during the growing season which is normally April to September.

Weeds Controlled

The best weed control will be achieved if crops are sprayed in conditions when weeds are actively growing, provided the crop is within the correct growth stages, see below. Identify the weeds present and select the appropriate rate as listed below. Optimum conditions prevail when all the following are true:

  1. Soils are warm and moist.
  2. Weeds have not been frost-hardened.
  3. Warm, moist conditions are expected to persist for several days after application.

This is particularly important when Optica is used in the spring to control large autumn germinated cleavers, which may have become 'winter hardened'. Provided weeds are at cotyledon to 2 leaves and application conditions meet the requirements listed above, susceptible species will be controlled at the rates recommended below.

If weeds are 3 to 6 leaves or conditions are less than optimum, using a higher rate will still control susceptible species. For optimum suppression of perennial weeds and species classed as moderately susceptible, apply Optica at 2.0 litres/ha.

Weeds Susceptibility Table

In amenity grassland and managed amenity turf a rate of 2.4 L/ha may be used. More than one application at the 2.0 L/ha rate may be needed for these difficult weeds. Allow 4 to 6 weeks between treatments.

Nice hose filter for filling hot tubs
Style: Standard Filter
I bought this for filling up my hot tub. It does the trick. Straight tap water was difficult to balance the ph and keep it stable. When I fill the hot tub using the filter, the water is more balanced and easier to maintain. I used it for two 390gal refills before I noticed it was getting slower, so ordered another one. I haven’t used it for drinking water so can’t comment on the taste. It does seem to help with hardness though.

Awesome filter! Nasty campground water no longer...
Style: Standard Filter
I have run these for years in my RV and they work killer! Here's some more in-depth thoughts: Pros: - These work better than I had expected. Just hook them up to the water source, hook your hose to it, run it to your trailer and viola` clean and good tasting water. Some of the places we have visited have had water that I wouldn't feed to my worst enemy. With this thing attached, it's very good tasting. - I like the hose attachment that comes with this to aide in adding flexibility to the system and not put too much strain on the system. I have bought so many of these, I now use one attaching the filter to the nozzle, one out of the filter to my hose, and one attaching my hose to the trailer. Notes: - I will note that the manufacturer suggesting using these for only 1 camping season, and this makes sense. That's what I do, and it seems to work out great. It's not too much $ to replace every season. - Another note, when first putting this filter into service (just the first time of the season, subsequent hook-ups wont do this) there will be a bunch of carbon (black in the water) that comes out of the faucet in your trailer. This is perfectly fine, safe, and of no issue. This is the filter breaking in and getting the extra carbon out of the system. There is no health concern with this happening. I just run the faucet until it clears up, and then we're good to go for the rest of the season. - Last note, when we unhook from our camping spot, I swing the filter in my hand with my arm extended (using centrifugal force, not centrifical, look it up) to get the residual water out of the filter so it doesn't sit in there and spoil. I do this until I get most of the water drops to stop, leave it out on the counter to dry, and boom, it's perfect the next time. Cons: - None to report Overall this filter does a great job taking care of some seriously nasty campground water that we've encountered all over the Southwest US. I cannot recommend it any higher. I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. I am not affiliated with the manufacturer, seller or any other product related company nor am I under any obligation to write this review. I do this for my own fun and to help others in the Amazon Community! Feel free to comment and let me know if I have helped you, and please note below if this review was able to help. Clean, Great-Tasting Water Made Easy with Camco Tastepure
Style: Standard Filter
I installed the Camco Tastepure RV inline water filter on our rig, and it’s another example of why I’ve come to trust Camco products. The reinforced strain relief hose is a small but incredibly smart feature—it keeps the connection between the filter, hose, and RV kink-free and easy to manage. Setup was simple, and the whole system feels sturdy and well-designed. A tip I’ve learned through experience: before putting a new filter into service, run water through the internal charcoal filter for 30 - 45 seconds. This flushes out any loose charcoal bits and ensures the first water you drink is crystal clean and tastes amazing. After that, connecting to the RV is straightforward, and you immediately notice how much better the water tastes. Whether filling up a glass or cooking, it’s made a real difference in our RV experience. Reliable, easy to use, and excellent tasting water every time - I highly recommend this to any RV owner who cares about water quality on the road.
