Designed exclusively to fit around and cover the Sundstrom SR-100 half face respirator. The combination of the HS-4 with the Sundstrom SR-100 half face respirator provides the user with the most efficient, easiest breathing respiratory available in the world (verifiable data), with the extreme thermal protection of the Hot Shield face mask. Provides a high degree of thermal protection to face & neck areas, through the use of CarbonX, a proprietary inherently non flammable fabric that far exceeds the Radiant Protective Performance (RPP) requirements of NFPA #1977 Standards for Wildland PPE and NFPA #1971 Standards for Structural Firefighting. One size fits all. The 3M Scotchlite Reflective Trim provides for enhanced nighttime visibility. Fastens behind the neck with hook and loop fasteners, while the Sundstrom provides its own “one time adjustment” head strap. The HS-4s design will fit all three sizes of Sundstrom SR-100 offered by manufacturer. With adjustment of fabric by user, this model will also fit & work with the 3M Pro MultiPurpose Respirator w/ Quick Latch.
More info on the SR-100 by Sundstrom: This half face air purifying respirator carries NIOSH approvals for specific levels of gases, vapors and/or particulates when equipped with the appropriate chemical cartridge and/or particulate filter. The Sundstrom SR-100 provides a high degree of filtration, yet has easy air exchange due to twin exhalation valves. The respirator body is made of high grade soft & flexible silicone which stays dimensionally stable and hypoallergenic to skin.
