  • Calathea Burle Marx, or Fishbone Prayer Plant, named after a Brazilian artist and landscape architect, is yet another stunning exotic plant from the Calathea family. This tropical beauty has artistic deep green fishbone patterns on light green oval-shaped leaves, making it an eye-catching element in your decor.

Burle Marx can grow up to 20 inches in height and 16 inches in width, and its foliage will stand out and gets fuller as the plant matures. This easy-care plant is also great at purifying the indoor air and removing air pollutants.

Calathea Burle Marx produces long stalks with clusters of small white flowers. These flowers usually bloom in winter or early spring.

Calathea Burle Marx is considered a lucky plant in feng shui due to its vibrant, lush foliage, which symbolizes prosperity and abundance. Its elegant, wavy leaves can help create a calming environment, promoting positive energy flow and enhancing the overall ambiance of a space. Additionally, the plant's ability to thrive indoors aligns with the feng shui principle of bringing nature inside, fostering harmony and balance in home or office settings.

  • Calathea Burle Marx tolerates different lighting conditions, including low-light spots. Its ideal lighting is bright, indirect light but it can also grow under fluorescent lights. Avoid harsh direct sunlight to prevent sunburn.

This plant needs regular watering about once or twice a week to keep its soil slightly moist. Watering should be more frequent during spring and summer (3 times per week) and should be reduced in the winter (once every 5-6 days or when the topsoil is dry to the touch).

Fishbone Prayer Plant needs well-drained,  nutrient-rich soils that are able to retain some moisture. Choose a peat-rich potting mixture.

This plant thrives in temperatures of 65°F-75°F and grow well in normal room conditions. It does not tolerate freezing temperatures.

This houseplant should be fertilized once per month during the growing season (spring/summer) with a diluted houseplant fertilizer.

This Calathea plant is considered non-toxic and safe for pets.

World War II - The Final Months
Format: Hardcover
The book takes you through the final months of World War II, focusing on eight key moments when the fighting finally came to an end. It’s not just a dry rundown of facts or battle maps — the authors do a great job of bringing the people involved to life, from famous leaders to everyday soldiers and civilians caught in the chaos. What I really liked was how the story moves around the globe, covering Europe, the Pacific, and beyond. It keeps the narrative fresh and exciting, giving a real sense of how the war unfolded on many fronts at once. Sometimes I had to pay close attention to keep up with all the locations and characters, but that only added to the feeling of being caught up in a fast-moving, gripping story rather than a history lesson. What stood out most was how it made me feel the human side of history—the fear, the relief, and the confusion as the war finally ended. It’s full of details, but it never felt boring or too technical.
