The flowers have large, pollen-covered anthers that attract bees and butterflies to the garden, but they are also excellent cut flowers and make stunning additions to floral arrangements. When cutting flowers, leave as much stem and foliage in place as possible, leaving at least 2/3 of the stem with leaves to renew the bulb for next year's growth and flowering.

Plant Asiatic lily bulbs 6 to 8 inches apart and 6 to 8 inches deep. Asiatic lilies like to have their heads in a sunny spot with at least 6 to 8 hours of sun each day but like their roots shaded. They prefer cool soils with good drainage and a slightly acidic pH. With a good winter mulch to protect them until spring, Asiatic lilies are winter hardy to Zone 3.
