Turfed Ice Plant and Dwarf Sea Anemone are the two common names given to Delosperma Sphalmanthoides. This evergreen plant is a native of South Africa and belongs to the Aizoaceae family. This tight mat-shaped succulent can be grown only about 1 inch tall.

Growth Rate

The turfed ice plant is known to spread faster than all other plants from the same family. It generally becomes double its initial size in the very first year.

Flowering

You will witness the magenta-colored flowers blooming in the early spring The leaves are tiny, finger-like and blue-grey in color.

Watering and Feeding

Delosperma Sphalmanthoides needs a lot of watering. If you water infrequently, you might cause their untimely death. Feed it with a cactus fertilizer once a month in spring and summer.

Soil

Buy or create a soil mix with extra pumice, perlite and less organic material Also, repot the plant during its active period which is the spring season.

Hardiness

Tufted ice plant has a hardiness zone of 5a to 9b. The succulent tends to get a little dry during the fall, signalling that it is ready for the cold weather. Their frost tolerance is between -28.9° C to -1.1° C.

Light

Since their native country is one where snow melts quickly, they prefer full sun. The brighter the sunlight they receive, the better for their growth.

Propagation

Division, cuttings, and seeds are methods of propagating the succulent. For division, spring is the ideal time and for the other two methods, you can propagate anytime.

Do not confuse the Tufted Ice Plant with another plant also known as the ice plant. The latter is an invasive specie that looks somewhat similar. Delosperma Sphalmanthoides is non-invasive and suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings.

My Doxie’s Absolute Favorite Fetch Toy – Who Knew Baby Balls Could Be So Paw-some? I bought these colorful baby balls as a simple toy for my little one, but my furry bay claimed them as his own from day one! These small, bouncy balls are perfect for little dogs – they’re lightweight and easy to grip in his mouth, keeping him entertained for hours. No squeakers or stuffing to destroy, just pure, durable fun. If your pup loves a good game of fetch or just batting things around, these “baby” balls are a steal. Highly recommend!

Best Dog Ball!!
Style: Ultra, Size: Small (2 Pack), Style: Ultra, Size: Small (2 Pack)
Our pug has been obsessed with this ball since we gave it to her — she even slept with it. Somehow it’s still in one piece, which never happens. Easily the best dog ball we’ve bought.

Difficult to destroy. Bounce really high.
Style: Squeaker, Size: Small (2 Pack)
Bought as a gift for a friend's small dog who dismantles tennis balls. He loves them. I have many years of experience with the product (in a larger size) for my big dog. He always had one either in his mouth or near him. They are pretty much indestructible.

High quality, wish it was just a little smaller
Style: Squeaker, Size: Small (2 Pack)
Love these. My dogs would play ball all day if I let them. These are very durable and bouncy. Love that it’s washable. They would chew up the small “tennis” balls to pieces so I love that they can’t destroy these. My only criticism is I wish these were just a little smaller (like the size of the small Kong tennis balls). My dogs can carry it in their tiny mouths but they can’t get their mouth around it enough to chew it to get the squeaker to squeak, which is their favorite thing.
