With proper care the new growth will be blemish free. The monstrose form in pic 1 is characterized by the bumpy surface. The spiral form in pic 2 is characterized by curling, spiral growth. Typically grows in clusters of cylindrical stems that twist and spiral as they grow, giving the plant a unique appearance. It is possible for future growth to show characteristics of other forms, including crested! Features small areoles along the ribs from which flowers and spines emerge. Like other cacti, it is adapted to arid conditions and requires well-draining soil and plenty of light to thrive. Best in bright indirect light.
