Bright green, strap like leaves with small, sharp teeth line the leaf edges, form a large growing rosette. With maturity, the plants will eventually grow a small woody trunk. Tall narrow flower spikes appear in early summer and make an excellent perch for hummingbirds in the xeric garden.
