Anthurium sp. ‘Esmeralda’ | Peru Wild Ecotype (EXACT PLANT)

Anthurium sp. ‘Esmeralda’ is a refined juvenile Anthurium distinguished by its narrow, elongated foliage and elegant Amazonian character. This plant displays lanceolate to sagittate leaves with a pronounced acuminate tip and a subtly developing basal sinus, typical of early-stage Anthurium from the Peruvian Amazon.
The leaf blades are thin to subcoriaceous, with a smooth surface and a soft satin sheen. Its fresh emerald-green coloration reflects active juvenile growth and excellent plant health. The central midrib is clearly visible, while secondary venation remains delicate at this stage, gradually becoming more defined as the plant matures.
Slender, cylindrical green petioles emerge from short internodes, giving the plant a compact growth habit. Partially persistent cataphylls and incipient adventitious roots are visible at the nodes, indicating strong vitality and adaptability to well-aerated substrates.

🌿 Origin & Habitat
This Anthurium is native to the biogeographical transition zone between the San Martín and Amazonas regions of Peru, an area renowned for its exceptional biodiversity. In its natural habitat, it grows in humid tropical forests under filtered light and high atmospheric humidity, conditions that shape its graceful foliage and refined structure.

✨ Maturation Potential
As the plant matures, ‘Esmeralda’ is expected to develop larger and more structured leaves, with increased definition of the basal lobes and more pronounced venation—revealing the full expression of its wild Peruvian ecotype.

An excellent choice for serious Anthurium collectors, Amazonian aroid enthusiasts, and growers seeking authentic plants with documented origin and long-term ornamental potential.

My 2 yr old son LOVES this book
Format: Paperback
I bought this for my son to introduce him to saying please and thank you in a manner that wasn't me (his mom) or his dad constantly asking him to say it. Now he reads through this book at least once a day (he has for the past 3 months that we've had this book), and he recites to me all the things that you should do and all the things that you shouldn't do. He points out who is good and who is bad in the book. And when he acts up all I have to say to him is "does Lowly worm (or whoever I can remember) do that in the book? Is he rude?" and instantly he is reminded to not act a certain way. It's much more effective than me asking him to stop. This is a book that should be in every child's library. I read the "top" review here, whatever that means, where the reviewer stated they didst' like the book because it was too negative. That review reeks of a nanny parent; please get over yourself. Give me a break - you are and adult and a parent, you are not your child's friend and a healthy dose of Vitamin NO is exactly what every 2 yr old needs. Highly highly highly recommend for all parents of very young children.

Good manners book
Format: Paperback
Good anecdotes and lessons in this book. I wanted to get a book to read to my 4 year old. This book keeps her attention and she likes it. This book talks about many subjects: Proper etiquette for please, thank you, your welcome, being a good guest, helping out with parents, friends, teachers and neighbors, etc. It feels a little long and a lot foing on with each page, but overall a good quality book. Would buy again.

Fun Lessons
Format: Paperback
You can never go wrong with reading a Richard Scarry book. This book teaches manners to young children very well. My young granddaughter has started speaking in complete sentences, and she is using please and thank you. This book is a good introduction for using these words.

Fun way to learn good behavior!
Format: Paperback
Good value for the price, you get 7 short stories with this book & the illustrations are very well done. If your child's attention span can't handle the entire book you can still manage a few. Lots of funny action pictures to hold their interest, my 4 1/2 yr old son flips through the book on his own just to look at the pictures and they are descriptive enough to follow the story without reading the words. It's a favorite book to listen to because he is of age to get in trouble and to be held accountable, so he likes to see that he is not the only one. His favorite story is Pig Will and Pig Won't. Hint: Say "I won't" with an angry piggy snort! This cracks kids up, they will anticipate the words and snort along with you "I won't"! Sometimes works to change a defiant or lazy mood when I ask him to do something, I will ask "is my D. a pig will or pig won't today?".. helps to snort a little! Can't overuse it though..

too advanced for 18month old, but great book!
Format: Paperback
I love Richard Scarry! I bought this book for my 18 month old, who we are trying to teach to say please and thank you. Unfortunately this book is just way too advanced for her. It's full on stories rather than short pieces. I know, the suggested age was older but that is true for a lot of books that really can be enjoyed by younger tots. This one will be put away for at least another 6 months, and then kept on the shelf of "appropriate" but not in her board book box. However, I really like that she can now say "Lowly" :) Richard Scarry is one of my favorite authors/illustrators from childhood and I'm glad to have this book. It just is beyond the reach of my LO at this age.
