Rare Albuca ‘Frizzle Sizzle’ has thick, tightly curled leaves on short stems that arise from an underground bulb.
Fragrant yellow flowers appear in spring on flower spikes that are adorned with10-20 blooms per spike. The blossoms have a light vanilla fragrance. Grow in full sun and allow the soil to dry out between waterings.
There are no pest or disease problems with ‘Frizzle Sizzle’ so it makes an ideal home garden plant that’s distinctive and eye-catching.
Albuca spiralis is a summer-dormant plant. Therefore, don't be alarmed if it loses its foliage and may not look as pretty as pictured. As long as the bulb is still healthy, in winter, the leaves will grow back and flowers will come in spring. Make sure to not overwater or feed the the bulb after it goes dormant and store it in a cool, dry location.
Keep in mind, when Albuca ‘Frizzle Sizzle’ sends up its flower stalks in spring, it often causes the tips of the leaves to brown. This is a natural occurrence. If you don’t want this to happen, simply remove the flower stalks as soon as they start to grow to prevent leaf tip browning.
Plants may be shipped bare root.
Notice:
Low light and excessive moisture will cause soft, floppy, non-curly leaves. Albuca ‘Frizzle Sizzle’ does best in full sun to keep the curls compact and green. Place the plant at a well ventilated spot where the plant can receive as much bright light as possible. You can also purchase grow lights if you live in cold area and can't afford leaving the plant outdoor. It's a winter grower, so if you keep it indoor, the heat may trigger the plant to think that summer has come and cause the plant to go dormant.

Slightly Interesting
Format: Kindle
First, I think Belle is a great writer. There was a lot of effort put into making this a very readable book. I also think that what happened to her really was terrible. Her husband 100% was wrong in what he did to her with the affair and his disappearance. Ultimately, her marriage prior to the betrayal seemed very superficial. She acknowledges that she chose the comforts of wealth over a close relationship. She had a part time husband/father and honestly it's not surprising that he left. He was barely there to begin.
Her absolute terror in imagining that she would drop down from the top 0.1% down to around the top 1% was not the compelling tragedy that she seems to think it is. Her bemoaning of the loss of ultra luxuries tended to diminish the emotional toll of her plight.
The book is laced through with the eventual end that her husband is going to take his assets and half of hers, but it never happens. I think she wants to relate the uncertainty and fear that she had, but it comes off as fake panic.
In the end, it's a sad story, but it was very predictable. It's a story about a woman who outsourced her responsibilities, who doesn't know how to operate without extreme wealth, and who shudders at the prospect of having to work a job. It was a short book, but 3 times longer than necessary.

Raw and Honest
Format: Hardcover
I admit I purchased this book because of all the hype, but also because I have been, since childhood, intrigued by her various family legacies (Burden, Vanderbilt, Cushing, Fairbanks), and their alliances (Whitney, Astor, Roosevelt, etc). I was not sure what to expect, but I am grateful I read this book. Being a queer man I probably am not the core audience for this book, I can attest it is still a great read.
Ms. Burden is amazingly candid and honest in a way I don't think most people in her situation would be. I can already tell that there will probably be countless reviews about how privileged her life was even during and after her divorce, and how unrelatable this book is for many people, but then you are missing something. If you want to judge Ms. Burden for things she had no control over then you should examine your own life.
My hat off to the author for being so open about such private matters in her life, and also for doing a great job shielding her children in life and in the book.
I hope it is true that there is a movie/series being made that will star Gwyneth Paltrow. I love Gwyneth, and if the author won't play herself I think Gwyneth is an amazing choice for her poise, acting ability, and class. Can't recommend this enough!
OH, I am curious to know if anyone who read this book read Wendy Burden's memoir Dead End Gene Pool. I LOVE that book, but it is so very very different, and I am curious to know if Wendy and Amanda get along irl.

Valuable lesson
Format: Board book
I bought this book for a baby shower as it was one of my kids favorite books. It is absolutely the cutest book, and will be a great addition to anyone's library. Quality book, great pictures and story. Value for the book and story is hard to beat!

Favorite childhood book

The Rainbow Fish was my absolute favorite book when I was little, so I had to get it for my kids too. The sparkly scales are still just as magical as I remembered and honestly make the whole book feel special.
The story is sweet, the illustrations are beautiful, and it’s one of those classic children’s books that actually sticks with you growing up. Reading it now feels really nostalgic for me, and my kids love looking at all the shiny pages. Such a cute book to have in your collection.

Great Book for 8 month old!

This book is extremely high quality and was in great condition upon arrival. Our daughter loves this book. Its well written, and it has an actual plot for her to follow. I love that the book isn't overstimulating colors, it has a well balanced color profile.
