It is known by a host of many common names which include "Mother In Law Tongue", "Snake Plant", "Devils Tongue" just to name few. They were recently moved to the genus Dracaena due to further research in to their genetics. 'Night Owl' has wider and shorter green strappy leaves with a cream margin and grey cream and green pattering towards the center.
