Parent trees had seed sourced from Albuquerque, NM (Zone 7) genetically cold hardy before growing in our cold zone 7 garden in central Oregon. Common name of California Fan Palm, this tree can reach heights of 10 to 25+ feet, depending on climate conditions. It is a moderate to fast grower, and has performed incredibly well in our cold high desert climate in Oregon! It is hardy to at least USDA zone 7, and parent trees have seen temperatures below -0F! These will typically suffer some frond damage but they rebound quickly in spring and look amazing and full by beginning of summer... each and every year!
