Growing Bamboo from Paper Bamboo Seeds

Growing Paper Bamboo and other clumping bamboo seeds offers several benefits. Species such as Fargesia and Borinda are known for their non-invasive growth habits, forming tight, attractive clumps rather than spreading aggressively, making them ideal for gardens and landscapes. Clumping bamboos are relatively easy to manage and maintain, requiring less effort to control their spread compared to running bamboos.

Paper Bamboo in particular is appreciated for its striking blue-gray culms, which add an ornamental value to gardens. Clumping bamboos generally have a graceful, elegant appearance, providing year-round greenery and serving as excellent natural screens or windbreaks. They are also highly adaptable, thriving in a variety of soil types and climatic conditions, from temperate to subtropical regions. Additionally, bamboo is known for its rapid growth and ability to sequester carbon, contributing to environmental sustainability.

Growing non invasive bamboo from seeds allows gardeners to cultivate a large number of plants economically and observe the full growth cycle, from seedling to mature plant. Overall, clumping bamboos, including Paper Bamboo,  offer aesthetic, ecological, and practical advantages, making them a valuable addition to any garden or landscape.

When You Buy Paper Bamboo Seeds

Paper Bamboo seeds produce cold resistant bamboo with a distinctive and attractive appearance that makes it a favorite among bamboo enthusiasts and gardeners. The most striking feature of this bamboo species is its culms, which are slender and arching, typically growing to heights of 10 to 25 feet. The young culms are a unique blue-gray color, often with a powdery, waxy coating that gives them a soft, almost pastel appearance. This blue tint becomes more pronounced in cooler temperatures, adding to the visual appeal of the plant.

The leaves of Paper Bamboo are narrow and lance-shaped, bright green in color, and densely packed, creating a lush, full look. The foliage forms a graceful, cascading canopy that complements the elegant, arching culms. The overall growth habit of Fargesia gaolinensis is clumping, meaning it forms tight, non-invasive clusters, which makes it easier to manage and ideal for garden settings.

This cold hardy bamboo's combination of striking culm color, graceful form, and dense foliage are why Paper Bamboo seeds are a good choice to grow bamboo that is a standout feature in any landscape, providing year-round beauty and interest.

About Fargesia Bamboo

The Fargesia species of bamboo are characterized by their clumping growth habit, forming tight, non-invasive clusters. They are notable for their attractive, often colorful culms, with some species displaying striking blue or purple hues.

Fargesia bamboo varieties, such as Paper Bamboo, typically grow to a moderate height, ranging from 10 to 25 feet, making them suitable for ornamental purposes in gardens and landscapes. These bamboos prefer cooler, mountainous regions and thrive in well-drained, fertile soils with adequate moisture. They are generally hardy and can tolerate light frost, making them adaptable to temperate climates.

Fargesia species are valued for their graceful, arching culms and delicate foliage, providing aesthetic appeal and serving as excellent natural screens or windbreaks. Their non-aggressive nature and manageable size make them an ideal choice for gardeners seeking to add bamboo to their landscapes without having to take measures to contain potentially invasive spreading.

Cold Hardy Bamboo Seeds

Cold hardy bamboo refers to bamboo species that can withstand and thrive in colder climates, where temperatures can drop below freezing. These bamboos are typically capable of surviving in USDA hardiness zones 5 through 10, depending on the species. Cold hardy bamboos are specially adapted to endure frost and snow, with some species even able to tolerate temperatures as low as -20°F (-29°C).

Cold resistant bamboo varieties such as Paper Bamboo often have thicker culms and denser foliage, which help protect them from cold damage. Species of bamboo that are resistant to cold include Borinda and Fargesia, which are popular for their resilience and ability to provide year-round greenery in temperate regions.

Does not absorb all the way BUT STILL THE BEST!
This is THE BEST outdoor/by the pool/by the water tanning lotion ever! I have used it in my tanning bed for years. It gives you a STUNNING rich, brown tan after just a couple of sessions. I will say the browning lotion doesn't absorb all the way so it does and will make a mess! But it does NOT stain ever, it washes right off. Once I am done tanning, I just take a dry towel and remove excess lotion. The after tan lotion is amazing and will turn any little burn into a beautiful tan overnight! My all time fave! It smells like mocha and coffee which makes sense because there's coffee as an ingredient!

Love love love
I have never had a tanning product work so well for me. First off let me start with saying that how quick it works is based off of where you are in the world in my experience. For example, if you are at the beach or an island or somewhere the sun is closer to the equator, it works quicker. If you are somewhere further north, it takes a bit longer, but still not by much. I would say only about a 15-30 minute difference for seeing results varying UV index. This product has definitely made it easier to tan living up north. And the aftercare lotion with this stuff is *chefs kiss*. I would put the aftercare stuff on after laying out on the beach and getting red like Larry the Lobster, then would wake up the next day with a tan and moisturized skin. Plus, with working, it makes it harder to spend my day soaking in the sun(sadly). But I still have a great tan after a week. Also, I am a skincare finatic and this did not make my face breakout or anything. (It does also have a sort of molasses smell but it really isnt horrible). So yes, buy the product. It’s so worth it.

long, tan, & handsome
Love this product. Bronzes even the palest of the Irish type. The after sun lotion is AMAZING. I use it anytime after I spend time in the sun - it really helps lock the color in and keep your skin so smooth and lush. I ease in, I wear it outside for a bit then put on sunblock until I have a good base tan - everyones different, without sunblock you’ll still burn… (since this isn’t sunblock) Putting it on is my least fav, hate the feeling of it on my hands, will get on everything in a 20 ft radius of you, but once it soaks in you’re good to go. You will smell like coffee for the next few hours, which is nice if you enjoy the scent.

Love the lotion, hate the browning cream
Love the lotion have used multiple bottles. It really does help prolong a suntan. Very moisturizing very nice scent. Like a you know Hawaiian tropical coconut pineapple scent little plumeria in there. But the bronzing cream stinks to high heaven. It was sticky and it was gross so I never used it and I won’t buy it again. Definitely by the lotion, but not the bronzer.
