Fragaria vesca, commonly called wild strawberry, is a small-fruited, everbearing strawberry that is native to Europe and Asia. This is a compact, stemless, 4-8” tall plant that spreads indefinitely by runners that root as they go. Numerous, small, 5-petaled white flowers with yellow centers appear throughout summer. Trifoliate, coarsely-toothed, green leaves. Flowers are followed by edible, bright red strawberries (1/2” long) that may be harvested throughout summer. Flowers and fruit are usually simultaneously present on plants in summer. Best grown in humusy, fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers full sun. Woodland strawberry is generally grown for its ornamental features because the fruits are so small. Native plant gardens. Edger or groundcover. Rock gardens. Open woodland areas. Also may be grown in containers or pots.

Growing Instructions

The seeds can be sown on the ground in the spring or summer or they can be grown in pots at any time of the year.

  1. The seeds like moist, well-drained soil. Prepare a mixture of half potting soil and half sand, perlite or vermiculite. Put the soil in a pot. Water the mixture so that it is moist but not wet.
  2. Put the seeds on the soil.
  3. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.
  4. Water the seeds.
  5. Place the pots in an area with warm temperatures in full sun or part shade.
  6. When the seedlings are a few inches tall, they can be transplanted.

The outer part of puzzle is awesome! The inner...not so much.

My doggo Josie is a pretty smart dog. She can give you the most pitiful look (like in the pic) where you're giving her most of your lunch. She can hide your socks in another dimension! She can sit, shake and yes when Alexa plays "Turn around" by Bonnie Tyler...she will do it. I like to challenge her with a puzzle. She figured out the outter part of the puzzle within minutes but I was disappointed she couldn't figure out the inner part of the puzzle. Then I figured out why. The inside puzzle is very hard to push around. She gets frustrated that it won't open or move around very well. I let her do the outer puzzle for treats but I no longer put treats in the inner part. I want her to be entertained...not frustrated. I'll keep it for a bit and then pass it on to a dog shelter.

Great fun
Color: Navy Blue
Great fun to watch my dog learn how to get his treats. Slows him down so they last longer. He’s almost ready for level 3.

Great!
Color: Pink, Color: Pink
Perfect for my small poodle mixes (13 lbs and 18 lbs). My dog (the one pictured) was able to solve this fairly quickly, but nonetheless it is amazing that she’s still taking the time to sniff and eat slowly. What I like is that even when she’s done, she goes back and re-sniffs and double checks in case she missed anything. It seems good quality so far and it’s been very easy to both set up and wash! Would definitely purchase again and would definitely recommend!

Stimulating for Dogs
Color: Pink
I use this for my blind and deaf dog. I crumble up small bits of treats and snacks in each compartment for her. I thought this would keep her busy for a while, but she figured it out quickly. The compartments are easy to load, but you need to break up the food or treats into small pieces. If the pieces are too large, they shift during loading and jam the slides. When the slides get jammed, it is hard for my dog to move them around and get to each compartment. She then starts chewing on the slides to get them to move. So far, she hasn't damaged the slides. The ones in the middle spin in a circle, so once she learned that, she breezes through those. She uses her nose to spin them in one direction to get to each compartment. The ones on the outside can be loaded on either side. She learned she has to push or pull those with her nose. It isn't much of a challenge for her, but she loves discovering the treats inside each section. The back has rubber feet, which keep it from sliding too much on the floor. It is well-made and durable. I hand-wash it. It is easy to clean out each section. It is exactly what I was looking for, and the pricing is excellent! I only wish she weren't so good at it and it kept her busy longer.
