Know Your Moisture. Dial In Your Dry. Perfect Your Cure.

The 454 Bags Cannabis Moisture Meter is built specifically for cannabis flower — giving you accurate, real-time moisture readings from the dry room all the way through curing and storage. Unlike generic meters designed for wood or grain, this device is calibrated exclusively for cannabis, eliminating guesswork and unreliable conversion charts.

Whether you are checking hanging plants, deciding when to buck, or confirming your flower is ready to seal, this is the tool that gives you confidence at every stage of post-harvest.

Understanding Your Readings (Stem vs Bud)

Moisture readings are taken from the stem or densest part of the flower, which naturally holds more moisture than the outer bud. This is intentional — stem moisture is the most reliable indicator of when cannabis is ready to move to the next stage.

Key concept: The stem dries last. When the stem hits the right range, your flower is ready.

Dry Room Moisture Guide (When to Buck Cannabis)

During hang drying, your goal is to monitor internal moisture through the stem to determine when your flower is ready to buck and trim.

15%+ Too wet. Continue drying. High mold risk if processed early.
13% – 15% Still drying. Not ready to buck yet.
12% – 13% Ideal bucking range. Stems snap clean, buds remain slightly pliable.
10% – 12% Entering cure zone. Ready for trimming and controlled curing.

Tip: Always test multiple plants and canopy levels to ensure even drying across your room.

Curing & Storage Moisture Guide

Once your flower is trimmed, moisture levels determine terpene retention, burn quality, and long-term storage stability.

8% – 10% Over-dried. Brittle buds, terpene loss, harsh smoke.
10% – 12% Ideal cure range. Smooth burn, terpene preservation, safe for sealed storage.
12% – 13% Acceptable but monitor closely. Requires burping if sealed.

How to Use the Cannabis Moisture Meter

Insert the pin probes into the stem or dense bud structure to measure internal moisture. Avoid testing only the surface — internal moisture is what determines drying and curing readiness.

  • Test multiple plants across your dry room
  • Check both top and lower canopy levels
  • Monitor daily during drying
  • Confirm moisture before bucking or sealing

This allows you to standardize your process, prevent mold, avoid overdrying, and maintain consistent product quality across every harvest.

Also Works for Grow Media (Rockwool & Soil)

This meter can also be used in grow environments to monitor moisture levels in rockwool, soil, and other media — helping optimize irrigation timing and root zone conditions.

Stop Guessing Your Dry Time

Moisture content is the single most important factor in cannabis drying and curing. It affects terpene preservation, smoke quality, shelf life, and mold risk.

The 454 Bags Cannabis Moisture Meter gives you the data you need to make the right decision at the right time — from hang dry to final cure.

Enjoyable Scottish-Flavored Cozy Mystery, Although Not a Hard Solve
Format: Kindle
Ally is a 60-something-year-old woman who upends her life in Edinburgh to move to tiny Locharran in the Scottish Highlands and open a B&B in the old malthouse located on the estate (like the rest of the town) of the Earl of Locharran, Hamish Sinclair. She has her first paying guests in an older, English couple, and an American, Wilbur Carrington, who is investigating his Scottish roots -- and possibly his being the rightful Earl of Locharran? Ally's cleaning lady finds Wilbur with a knife in his back outside the B&B. This is sure gonna' affect Ally's brand-new business! Of course, her kids back in Edinburgh are concerned for her safety as well. Along with the lecherous earl's attention to Ally, the murder at the local B&B makes Ally the intense focus of local gossip, so this spurs her into attempting to solve the murder herself, as the local gendarmes don't seem to be having much luck. So...whodunnit? As soon as more folks showed up on the scene, renting rooms for Ally, the identity of the murderer(s?) became more clear. I still enjoyed the descriptions of the scenery; the new lab puppy; and the townfolk, even though this "Scottish" mystery was obviously written for an American audience w/ many stereotypes thrown in. 4 stars.

Great cozy mystery series
Format: Kindle
I love that the main character is an energetic independent older woman I can relate to. Ally is funny, smart, and says what’s on her mind and even at her age (late 60’s) has to deal with Romantic situations some encouraged and some definitely not. I totally enjoyed this book couldn’t put it down and plan to read the remaining books in this series. The book definitely keeps your interest from the first chapter on. I loved that the setting was in Scotland (I’m part Scottish) and it was describe so beautifully I almost felt like I was there.

Sorry that I was not much of a fan, especially not a fan of the narrator.
Format: Audiobook
I read this with my book club. Mixed reviews...some liked it and some of us not so much. Nobody really wanted to continue reading this series. The story was not very intriguing, and the book dragged on. The narrator was not very good, so it spoiled the experience. I will not continue to read the series.

Worked well near the equator
Style: SPF 50
I bought this product because I was going to be in the field for a month, outside, every day, all day, in Tanzania at high altitude. A severe sunburn would be hard to treat in the remote area we were in, but also I am very careful about protecting my skin from aging. I had to have mineral based sunscreen because as a whitewater kayaker I know it’s the only truly water resistant kind and it was going to be sweaty. And since I knew I was going to be putting it on every day, and we didn’t have running water in the field (bucket showers only) I didn’t want it to feel gross. (I really wanted to try the spray but I didn’t want to put anything pressurized in my luggage.) And I had already discovered the Coola face sunscreen (30spf version) which had impressed me with how silky smooth and not greasy it is. Now this IS greasier because it is a higher SPF. BUT I think this product is as good as you’re going to get with the protection you’re getting. Like I said, I’m a white water tiger, so I have used a LOT of mineral sunscreens. This was hands down the most comfortable one I’ve used. And it was effective. I didn’t burn once—only time I did burn was when I forgot to put it on one day toward the end of the trip, when we were out for just a couple hours—and I got the first 2nd degree burn I’ve ever had in my life. That was what this stuff had protected me from, all day every day, the entire trip. I did tan a little but I think that was mostly from the few times I was not covered during short bouts or it was cloudy. For my face I used the Coola 50spf face product.
