    • Aquarium:  When properly prepared, they can release a low amount of tannin, promote biofilm, and they contribute to a natural environment which stimulates natural behaviors for fish and shrimp.  

    • Bioactive Terrariums:  Provides hiding spots for isopods and springtails, serves as a food source for isopods and springtails, enriches the substrate by releasing nutrients as they break down, and encourages natural and instinctive behaviors such as forging and exploring.  Springtails can easily be harvested from a master springtail culture by placing cotton flower pods on the surface of the culture, and the springtails will gather on the seed pod.

    • Botanical Home Decor: Perfect as bowl fillers or integrated into larger natural arrangements, terrariums, and potpourri.

Preparation for Aquarium/Paludarium Use:

  1. Boil: Boil the pods for at least 15 minutes to help them sink and leach initial tannins.

  2. Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer if needed, changing the water daily, until they are fully waterlogged and the desired amount of tannin has been leached.

  3. Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, they are ready to be added to your setup.

Great toy for a smaller dog

This is a small, firm, sturdy toy designed for chewing. It isn't a soft toy and it does not have a squeaker. My dog is only 8 lbs, and this is a perfect size for her. I discovered these smaller toys through my groomer. Other manufacturers make this size, as well. The "hard chew" part indicates that this toy will not be chewed to death easily. The oldest one that we have is still in good condition. It's a baby duck (also available on Amazon) and it's over a year old. The dinosaur is colorful, easy to throw, and a really cute. Every night, my dog gives these small toys a bath, cleaning them up by licking each one before going to sleep. It's as if they are her babies. Since she never had a liter, my vet said that they are about the size that her babies would have been, so she may see them as her babies. She treats them well. Every now and then they go" swimming" in the washing machine and come out looking bright and new again.

I will certainly buy another one because at least it lasted a week so far!
