Mauna Loa Daylily

‘Mauna Loa’ daylily has blooms so lava hot, they’ll  grab your gaze from across the garden. Lots of sturdy scapes and a high bud count means you’ll see lots of bright orange blooms in your early to midsummer garden.

Big, bold, bright orange blooms are about 5" on scapes around 22" tall in our East Tennessee garden. A favorite of ours and our garden visitors.

As an early to mid season bloomer, we begin to see the scorching blooms of Mauna Loa around the middle of June. If you live to our north, you'll see them a bit after we do. If you live to our south, you'll notice them a couple of weeks before us. 

Mauna Loa is a dormant daylily. That means it is best grown in areas that receive a sustained winter cold period like those in zones 8 and lower.

We love this beauty no matter what it is planted with but it looks especially nice with bright yellow, bold gold, deep, rich purple and sizzling hot pink. A riot of summer color!
