Philodendron ‘Choco Empress’ features large and wide, deeply lobed leaves that emerge a bronzy, chocolate color and mature to green. Forms a mostly upright, vase-shaped clump. Commonly grown indoors as a houseplant. This variety gets quite large.

Philodendron Basic Care: Easy to Medium

  • Water: Can only go 1-2 weeks without water so check on it weekly and add water every time the top two inches of soil dry out.
  • Light: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent foliage scorching.
  • Soil/Drainage: This plant benefits from a chunky tropical houseplant mix. Adding orchid bark or perlite can improve drainage.
  • Temperature/Humidity: Prefers higher humidity but can adapt to average household humidity and temperatures.
