🌱 Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Growing Guide
These are general horticultural guidelines — not instructions for ingestion or processing.
🔧 Seed Preparation
-
Scarification — Gently nick the hard outer shell using a craft knife or fine sandpaper.
-
Warm‑water soak — Soak seeds for 24 hours in warm water to soften the seed coat and support germination.
🌿 Planting Instructions
-
Soil — Use a well‑draining mix such as 50% compost and 50% vermiculite or horticultural sand.
-
Containers — Start seeds in small pots with pre‑moistened soil.
-
Depth — Plant seeds approximately 1 cm deep.
-
Humidity — Cover pots with plastic wrap or a humidity dome to retain warmth and moisture during early germination.
☀️ Ideal Growing Conditions
-
Temperature — Optimal germination occurs at 20–30°C (68–86°F).
-
Light — Provide bright, indirect sunlight or partial shade, with at least 6 hours of light daily.
-
Humidity — Prefers higher humidity; mist occasionally or place pots on a humidity tray.
💧 Watering & Fertilising
-
Watering — Keep soil moist but never waterlogged. Allow the top layer to dry slightly between waterings.
-
Fertiliser — Use a low‑nitrogen, high‑phosphorus fertiliser every 4 weeks to encourage flowering rather than excessive foliage.
