Adenium arabicum 'Baobab' , also known as desert rose 'Baobab', is a particularly impressive variety of Adenium arabicum, renowned for its thick, swollen trunk reminiscent of African baobabs. This succulent plant is highly prized for its distinctive silhouette and beautiful flowers, making it a popular choice for succulent collectors and bonsai enthusiasts.
Origin: Adenium arabicum is native to the semi-arid regions of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, where conditions are extremely hot and dry.
Growth: 'Baobab' develops a particularly large and robust caudex (trunk) that serves as a water reserve, allowing it to survive in arid environments. The plant can reach a moderate height, but its growth is relatively slow, making it ideal for growing in pots.
Flowers: The flowers of Adenium arabicum 'Baobab' are spectacular, often bright pink with a white or yellow center, although colors can vary. They appear in late spring or early summer and can last for several weeks.
