It is preferable that the soil does not contain much organic material, such as peat moss and that the plant is not fertilized with heavy nitrogen as this can cause an explosion of soft, flabby growth that can make the plant prone to bacterial rots. Decomposed granite is often an excellent media as it has many trace minerals and is similar to the South African quartz fields where these and others of the "Stone Mimicry" are found growing. Do one oil change myself and it’s more than paid for.

It is 74 mm. It’s nicely made of cast aluminum. It has a rough cast finish so it shouldn’t be difficult to hold on to. It does fit my Lexus filter and the price is very reasonable. It also fits the oil filter on my 1999 (antique) Harley Davidson Heritage Classic. Which is the primary reason I ordered it. I don’t know this for certain but I suspect it will fit all HD EVO engines. That would be 1984 through 1998 except the Heritage which didn’t change to the 88 Twin Cam until 2000.
