Aglaonema 'Silver Queen'
Aglaonema 'Silver Queen' is a Chinese evergreen cultivar with narrow lance-shaped leaves patterned in silver-green and darker green. It grows from short stems that gradually form a clump, with leaves held upright when young and more arching as they mature.
Silver-green colour covers much of the blade, while darker green markings follow the margins, midrib area and irregular marbling. As the plant ages, stems can lengthen into cane-like sections, and basal shoots help keep the pot filled from below.

Aglaonema 'Silver Queen' develops slim leaves on upright petioles, giving the plant a more vertical crown when young, followed by a softer arching outline as the blades lengthen.
Indoor flowering may occur on mature plants, with a pale spadix held inside a greenish-white spathe. Old flower stalks can be removed once they fade.
Aglaonema 'Silver Queen' care points
- Light: Grow in bright indirect to medium light. Filtered brightness keeps the narrow leaves firm and evenly coloured.
- Watering: Water when the top 2–5 cm of mix has dried. Mature clumps need water spread across the whole pot surface.
- Substrate: Use an airy houseplant mix with bark, perlite or pumice to keep oxygen around the roots.
- Drainage: Let excess water leave the pot fully after each watering, especially during cooler months.
- Temperature: Keep at 18–27 °C and away from cold draughts.
- Humidity: Average indoor humidity is usually suitable; dry heated rooms may cause tip browning.
- Feeding: Apply diluted fertiliser every 4–6 weeks in active growth and flush the pot occasionally.
- Repotting: Repot when roots fill the pot or the clump becomes top-heavy.
- Pruning: Remove yellowing old leaves at the base and shorten bare stems above nodes.
- Propagation: Divide crowded clumps or root stem cuttings with visible nodes.

- Brown sun marks: Shift the plant back from hot windows or intense grow lights.
- Yellowing with soft petioles: Check for cold, wet substrate and reduce watering until the root zone improves.
- Dry brown tips: Review watering consistency, fertiliser concentration and dry indoor heat.
- Bare canes: Cut mature stems above nodes and root healthy cane sections to renew the plant.

Mixed results using this auto can opener...

I had high hopes for this can opener, but was let down. This can opener failed me half of the times I tried to use it. For some reason it wouldn't cut through the paper surrounding the cans. I tried it on small, medium and large cans. It worked best on larger cans. I got it because I liked the idea of opening cans without having to contend with the sharp lids that inevitably fall back into the opened cans. It is unsanitary at best and a safety hazard at worst. On the plus side it is rechargeable, so no battery worries there. It fits nicely in the hand for ease of use. It appears to be of sturdy construction, so it's a high quality item. And being small it will store easily. The price is right and it represents a good value for your hard earned dollars.

Hands Free Operation; Safe Cutting
Color: Green
I used to have a manual (as in turn-the-crank) side-cutting can opener really liked it. It eventually wore out and I had relegated myself to the standard hand-crank top-cut version that often left a sharp lid and sometimes a little burr or sharp point where the cut wasn't complete and the you had to the tear/bend the lid off.
With this mostly hands-free Side Cut Can Opener, sharp edges will be few, if any. I say "mostly hands-free" because you do have to position the opener on the can and push the button to start it and, when it finishes, you have to push the button again to tell it to stop. On the demo can in my video, the lip was such that the cut was right through that edge such that there were no sharp edges. It is possible that some cans may be designed such that the cutter falls below that rim and cuts the can edge in a way that leaves dull lid but a sharp can. These should be rare, but good to watch out for in case you get one. Always assume edges are sharp until you verify otherwise.
You'll note in my video that the lid was a little difficult to remove. Some of that may be learning curve with this new opener, and some it may be that is just how it is! I accept that and choose to move forward using this new, safer can opener. Recommended.

Fabulous Product!

This wine opener is fabulous! Foil cutter is sharp and works well. Easily removes the cork, then releases the cork from the corkscrew with a touch of a button. Also seals the wine which I have stored on its side in my wine refrigerator without any leaks. Charges quickly and I have opened many bottles of wine without needing to recharge it. Have had this item for a few months and if it continues to work this well, I will be amazed and very satisfied. Very reasonably priced as compared with similar products that I considered. Most of the other products cost more and did not do all of the functions that the Circle Joy does.
