How Garlon 4 Ultra Herbicide Works

Garlon 4 Ultra Herbicide contains triclopyr as the active ingredient. This organic compound is used as a systemic herbicide and controls broadleaf weeds without affecting grasses and conifers. It also controls rust diseases on various crops. Because of its organic nature, triclopyr breaks down in the soil within 90 days yet remains active for up to three months. It also degrades quickly in the water and is only slightly toxic to fish and ducks.

 

Where to Use Garlon 4 Ultra Herbicide

Use Garlon 4 Ultra Herbicide in noncrop areas to treat hard-to-control broadleaf weeds and woody plants. It's safe for use in grazing areas except for those where lactating dairy animals are raised. Refer to the label for further information regarding grazing and haying restrictions. The most common target areas include:

  • Forests
  • Industrial sites
  • Railroads
  • Rights of way
  • Roadsides

Garlon 4 Ultra is useful for different application treatments: basal, hack and squirt, cut stump, dormant stem and injection.

 

Target Weeds

Garlon 4 Ultra herbicide targets 80 different tough-to-control plant species. It eliminates problem vegetation such as dandelions and clover and controls durable woody species such as red oak and loblolly pine. Other target pests include:

  • Ash

  • Elm
  • Kudzu
  • Ragweed
  • Sweetgum
