This Variegated Fox Tail Agave is an attractive selection of the Agave attenuata. Like the species, ‘Ray of Light’ is gentle and graceful, characterized by smooth, pliable leaves free from menacing teeth or claws. However, this Fox Tail Agave has white stripes that stylishly borders each green leaf.

Agave attenuata ‘Ray of Light’ is a frost-tender, elegant agave with large rosettes and an unusual, trunk-forming stem. This moderately-fast growing agave freely produces offsets, creating colonies up to 10 feet wide. It grows faster than ‘Boutin Blue’ but may not be as vigorous as regular green Fox Tail Agave. Each individual rosette may reach 4 ft. wide and has 15 to 35 leaves. The green leaves are adorned with white borders that are more pronounced on younger foliage. The variegation on these soft leaves can vary in width and contrast. The smooth, light grey, bare stem is distinctive and varies in length from 1.5 to 5 ft. from the base.

The soft, harmless leaves make Agave attenuata ‘Ray of Light’ a great choice near pathways or in patio containers. It can be planted as individual accents or in groupings throughout the garden, in borders or on slopes. Matthew has taken a difficult topic and expanded on it based not only on the Word, but also based on visions, prophecy from others, and revelation knowledge from the Holy Spirit. He gives new ideas and strengthens old ones. For instance, I have always thought the two witnesses in Revelation are Enoch and Elijah because God took them (they did not die) and because man is appointed once to die.
