Planting & Growing Instructions
• Days to Maturity: 95–100 days from transplant.
• Planting Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep.
• Plant Spacing: Space plants 18–24 inches apart in rows spaced 24–36 inches apart for optimal growth.
• Days to Germination: 10–14 days under optimal conditions.
• Indoor Starting Recommended: Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost date. Use a quality seed-starting mix and maintain a soil temperature of 75–85°F for best results.
• Direct Sowing Outside: Not recommended, as these peppers require a long growing season and warm soil temperatures.
• Light Requirements: Full sun (6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily).
How to Grow Red Habanero Peppers
1. Start indoors using a seed tray or pots filled with a fine seed-starting mix. Cover the seeds lightly with soil, keeping them moist but not waterlogged.
2. Provide consistent warmth using a heat mat to maintain the ideal germination temperature of 75–85°F.
3. Once seedlings have two sets of true leaves, transplant them into larger pots.
4. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions over 7–10 days before transplanting them into your garden after the last frost date.
5. Choose a sunny, well-drained location with fertile soil enriched with compost or aged manure. Red Habaneros thrive in soil with a pH of 6.2–7.0.
6. Water regularly but avoid overwatering. Peppers prefer consistent moisture but hate soggy roots.
