Britax Galaxy360™ Slim Rotating Convertible Car Seat

If you’re looking at the Britax Galaxy360, you’re probably in love with the idea of getting a child in and out of the car seat without triggering backpain and/or climbing into the backseat with your child. Britax designed the Galaxy360 Slim as a rotating convertible car seat that turns a full 360°, starts rear-facing for infants/toddlers, and transitions to forward-facing seat when your child is ready—without requiring a reinstall to switch directions. It’s built around three big ideas: one-hand rotation, an install process designed to be fast and intuitive (ClickTight + QuickStand), and a slim footprint (17” wide) intended to help you manage backseat space.

Size limits (manufacturer-listed): rear-facing 5–50 pounds, forward-facing 30–65 pounds, and rear- and forward-facing harnessed standing height less than 49”. The Galaxy360 also lists overall child weight as 5–65 pounds, with a published expiration of 10 years and a 1-year manufacturer limited warranty.

Space note: The Galaxy360 Slim comes in at 17” wide, with product dimensions 21.5” x 17” x 22”. That width number is the one many families look at first if they’re trying to plan a tight back seat or run multiple car seats at once.

Highlights & Features

  • 360° rotation with one hand: The Galaxy360 is a rotating convertible car seat that turns a full 360 degrees and rotates with just one hand to simplify loading and buckling. (Read: turn the seat toward the door to buckle, then rotate it back to the travel position.)
  • 2-in-1 convertible stages: Britax positions Galaxy360 as a rear-facing infant/toddler seat first (5–50 lbs.), then a forward-facing harness seat (30–65 lbs.) when your child is ready. Britax also states it strongly recommends children ride rear-facing up to the highest weight or height allowed by the seat.
  • 2-in-1 convertible stages: The Galaxy360 covers two harnessed stages in one seat—rear-facing (5–50 lbs.) for infants and toddlers, then forward-facing (30–65 lbs.) when it’s time to turn. Keep your child rear-facing up to the maximum height or weight limit allowed.
  • ClickTight® technology + QuickStand™ seat prop: The Galaxy360 uses an ultra-accessible seat belt path with a buckle-and-click-close install flow. A QuickStand™ seat prop holds the seat up and out of the way during installation, and ClickTight® technology tightens and locks the vehicle seat belt to help you get a fast, secure install.
  • SwivelSmooth™ steel ring: The Galaxy360 uses a wheels-on-steel design with a SwivelSmooth™ steel ring to help the seat rotate smoothly, so turning it feels like a controlled glide.
  • Secure one-piece design: The Galaxy360 is a one-piece seat + base system that stays connected as a single unit at all times, including during installation.
  • Slim 17” SpaceSaver™ design: The Galaxy360 is a slim, 17” wide rotating seat designed to help you get a better fit in your vehicle and save backseat space without compromising safety or comfort.
  • ReboundReduce™ stability panel (rear-facing): The Galaxy360 includes a ReboundReduce™ stability panel on the back of the base to help minimize movement in a crash when the seat is installed rear-facing.
  • Energy management + reinforced base: The Galaxy360 has a high-strength steel–reinforced base and two layers of energy management—a protective seat shell plus a foam-lined headrest—designed to help absorb crash forces.
  • Recline + adjustment: The Galaxy360 features a 6-position recline with an easy-read indicator, plus an 11-position no-rethread harness and headrest that adjust together for a proper fit as your child grows.
  • Cleaning + materials: The Galaxy360 includes a SafeWash® cover that’s washer- and dryer-friendly, made with naturally flame-retardant fabrics with no added FR chemicals, plus a smooth, easy-to-wipe shell for everyday cleanup.
  • Two cup holders: The Galaxy360 comes with two dishwasher-safe cup holders that slide out for cleaning and click back into place for a secure fit during rides.
  • Testing & standards: The Galaxy360 is tested to FMVSS 213 frontal impact standards and side-impact tested according to FMVSS 213a. FMVSS 213a applies to harnessed children up to 40 lbs. and 43” and does not include side-impact standards for harnessed children above those limits.

Product Details

What “rotating convertible” means for today's parent

As part of the hottest trend of the 2020s, Britax built the Galaxy360 around the idea that a parent can rotate the seat toward the door opening to harness his or her child, then rotate it back to the locked travel position. Britax’s “one hand” emphasis matters because even if a seat rotates, it needs to be easy TO rotate in order for you to use it.

Rotation also tends to matter more in certain real-life setups like tighter parking spaces, cars with smaller rear door openings, higher SUVs where leaning in is a full-body move, and multi-kid situations where you’re buckling one child while keeping an eye on the rest.

Rear-facing stage (5–50 lbs., < 49 inches)

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that infants and toddlers ride rear-facing as long as possible, until they reach the highest weight or height allowed by their car seat manufacturer.

Britax sets the Galaxy360 rear-facing harnessed weight range at 5–50 lbs. and rear-facing harnessed standing height at less than 49 inches. For many families, the rear-facing stage is the longest stage, and it’s also the stage where loading can feel the most awkward because you’re leaning in and working at a lower angle (here comes the back pain).

Forward-facing harness stage (30–65 lbs., < 49” inches)

Once a child outgrows the forward-facing harness limits of any seat, families typically move to a booster seat category based on general child passenger safety guidance and the seat’s own instructions. Britax sets the Galaxy360 forward-facing harnessed weight range as 30–65 lbs. with a forward-facing height less than 49 inches. This is still a harnessed stage—Galaxy360 is described as a 2-in-1 convertible seat (rear- and forward-facing), not a booster, but these requirements are generous and should last a long time with most children.

Install once + switch directions without a reinstall

The Galaxy360 is designed so you can switch between rear-facing and forward-facing by rotating the seat—without uninstalling and reinstalling it just to change directions. That matters because reinstalling is usually where people second-guess everything: belt routing, tightness, recline angle, and whether the seat is truly locked in the way it should be.

This doesn’t eliminate the normal “use it correctly” steps. You still need to follow the user guide for the right recline setting, harness/headrest position, and any mode-specific indicators. The point is that the direction change happens through rotation, not by starting over on installation.

ClickTight® + QuickStand™

The Galaxy360 uses a ClickTight® install system built around an auto-opening seat and an ultra-accessible belt path. The intended flow is simple: open the seat, route the vehicle seat belt through the belt path, buckle, and click it closed. A built-in QuickStand™ seat prop holds the seat up and out of the way during installation, and ClickTight® is designed to tighten and lock the vehicle seat belt as you close it.

Fit and Space Planning

The Galaxy360 is built with a slim, 17” wide footprint—one of the first numbers families look at when they’re planning a tighter backseat layout or comparing seats side-by-side. For a more complete size check, the published dimensions are 21.5” x 17” x 22”, with buckle strap depths of 4”–7.25” and a seat area depth/width of 11” / 12.5”. If you are wondering about a 3-across selection of car seats (which means you can fit three seats across the bench in the backseat), these are the measurements you'll need.

Even with good dimensions, car seat fit can still vary by vehicle. Rear seat contouring, buckle stalk placement, door opening shape, and front-to-back room all change the real-world experience. The best approach is to use these measurements as your baseline, then confirm fit in your own vehicle and follow the user guide.

Recline + Indicators

The Galaxy360 has a 6-position recline with an easy-read indicator to help you find the right angle for your vehicle. It also includes proper-use indicators (including indicators for the tether, ClickTight, rotation, and recline) designed to give you a clear, repeatable way to confirm the setup—less guessing, more confidence that everything is locked in correctly.

Harness + headrest adjustment (11 positions, no rethread)

The Galaxy360 uses an 11-position no-rethread harness and headrest that adjust together, so you can change the fit without rethreading straps as your child gets taller. Harness fit is something you’ll revisit often, and correct strap positioning matters. For forward-facing use, NHTSA guidance emphasizes keeping harness straps flat (not twisted) and routing them through slots at or above the child’s shoulders, and it also recommends reading the car seat manual carefully since some seats have specific requirements for top slots in forward-facing mode.

Safety + energy management

The Galaxy360 is built with a safety-focused structure and impact-management features designed to keep the seat stable and help manage crash forces:

  • Reinforced base: A high-strength steel–reinforced base helps keep the seat sturdy and stabilized.
  • Rear-facing stability: An integrated anti-rebound panel plus the ReboundReduce™ stability panel are designed to help minimize movement in a crash when the seat is installed rear-facing.
  • Energy management: A protective seat shell and foam-lined headrest are designed to help absorb impact energy.

Testing & standards: The Galaxy360 is side-impact tested according to FMVSS 213a and tested to FMVSS 213 frontal impact standards. FMVSS 213a sets side-impact standards for harnessed children up to 40 lbs. and 43” and does not include standards for testing harnessed children above those limits.

Cleaning and fabric approach

The Galaxy360 includes a SafeWash® cover that’s washer- and dryer-friendly, plus naturally flame-retardant fabrics with no added FR chemicals (available on select fashions). For best results, follow the care label and the user guide, remove crumbs and surface dirt first, and wash/dry according to the listed instructions.

For everyday messes, the Galaxy360 also has a smooth, easy-to-wipe shell, which makes quick cleanups simpler after snacks, spills, and the usual backseat chaos.

General questions

How long should my child ride rear-facing?

Rear-facing is recommended as long as possible, until your child reaches the highest weight or height limit allowed by the seat (whichever comes first). The Galaxy360 supports rear-facing harnessed use up to 50 lbs. with standing height less than 49”.

What does “FMVSS 213a side-impact tested” mean?

FMVSS 213a is a U.S. federal safety standard for side-impact protection requirements. The standard applies to restraints intended for children up to about 40 lbs. or up to about 43” standing height with a 5-point harness, and it does not include side-impact standards for harnessed children above those limits.

Functionality questions

Yes. The Galaxy360 is designed to rotate a full 360°.

Can it switch from rear-facing to forward-facing without a reinstall?

Do I need to use the top tether forward-facing?

2026 it has saved me
I never wanted a store card only! When I first applied I was bummed that I only got the store card and I thought about canceling it. BUT A lot has changed this year for sure. New grandparents, grocery being so EXPENSIVE and everything in our house as far as electronics needed to be replaced. Very easy to apply for, love the fact that you can apply without getting a hit on your credit and if you want to accept the offer then do so and if you decide that it’s not enough credit then you can decline the offer and no hit to your credit. I will say this, this was the lowest card that I was offered but I chose to get it anyway and within a month I had already received a credit line increase. I also took a trip out of the country and was able to order stuff and have it delivered with no problems. Every time I use it I get cash back and am able to use that on my next order. This is my weekly card for groceries. I definitely can’t wait until it upgrades to the visa, I would definitely get more use out of it. For those who are Amazon shoppers, it’s well worth it. So far so good, Good Choice.

Good, but you need to be careful with it
I've done business with GE CRB before using other store cards, so I knew what to expect going into this. I will echo the advice that a few others have given. For one, I would recommend that you only use this card for one purchase at a time and that you pay it off entirely before using the card again. The interest starts accruing immediately, but you are not billed for it until the promotional term expires - for example 6 months, 12 months, etc. You will see the expiration date and accrued interest amount on your bill. I always make sure I can pay off the entire amount well before the expiration date. Also, I schedule automatic payments through the website so it's paid every two weeks (pay day works well for me). I divide the balance by number of payments and schedule all of them right away. It's very easy to do this and will prevent late payment fees and the possibility of defaulting and getting hit with the accrued interest. I haven't had to deal directly with GE CRB customer service yet, so I don't have any complaints on that. The benefit of having a card like this is being able to use it for major purchases, paying it off over time, and avoiding any interest charges because you are paying off the balance before the promotional term (deferred interest) expires. You can't do that with a regular credit card. If you want a card to make frequent purchases with and plan on paying off the balance at the end of the month, you're much better off with a regular credit card. One warning... I noticed that after I was approved for this card my method of payment for Kindle one click purchases changed to this card. Keeping it that way would not be good and I wanted to make sure others know about this. I'm pretty sure you'd be hit with the interest at the end of the month since the purchases you would be making are lower than what's required to receive the no interest promotions. I changed it back to my debit card. Just keep on top of the account, don't use it to make a bunch of purchases, and pay the balance off before the promotional terms expire and you'll be fine. Like all credit, being responsible is the key to not getting in trouble with it.

But it does not ask that. Just the ID? 2:39:52 PM : James: Yes, you can get your user ID 2:39:57 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: silly damn computer. It was my email. But the system automatically changed it. 2:44:24 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Then would not accept it with caps to enter the account. WEIRD. 2:45:15 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Are you quiet to see if they will approve the $25 or is this professional distance? Perhaps you had business to address elsewhere? 2:45:56 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: What was that number again? I'd like to call and make my payment. 2:46:13 PM : James: I am really sorry, I have already processed $25.00 and system does not allowed to credit another $25.00 2:46:23 PM : James: You may call customer service at toll-free 1-866-634-8379 and make payment without any fee. 2:48:41 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: That's fine. I only ask because every penny counts. And you'll have to forgive me. But it is mildly insulting to tell me you are sorry for the inconvenience when the computer or programmers is clearly not sorry and intentionally set it up so that i could not use proper caps in my ID or email address. Rather than get upset at the lie i chose to laugh at it as a canned response. 2:50:57 PM : James: Yes, the user ID is case sensitive 2:51:03 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: I called the phone system and it says you lied to me twice??? It says my balance is $403.23 ? 2:51:16 PM : James: I understand, it would be frustrating some times if the system does not help us 2:51:28 PM : James: As mentioned, the balance will be updated in next 48-72 hours 2:51:48 PM : James: However, you can be rest assured that your balance is $378.23 2:52:44 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: please forgive me for being frustrated. But if you read the conversation there was no mention of wait 48-72 hours for the credit to post. I know it is not your intention. But that makes a third lie. 2:53:36 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: I asked specifically if i call right now will the credit be posted? And your response was Yes when i call it would show up. 2:54:32 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: or at least that is how the conversation felt. 2:55:09 PM : James: I am really sorry for the confusion. 2:55:29 PM : James: $25.00 will post in next 48-72 hours, however, you can pay $378.23. 2:55:39 PM : James: And cancel the payment which was made online 3:02:28 PM : James: I will be glad to help if you need any more information from your account. 3:02:28 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Is it possible to save or email this conversation as a copy to myself? The problem is the computer system and not you. But a lot of things happened here. Ridiculously low credit limit. ID being made all lower case by the website. The automatic charge 20 days later if i had not asked you. And a lot of bad things could have happened. In fact some things did. Amazon made my default automatically their card instead of the one i selected. So a lot of my purchased were canceled or interrupted and did not ship on time until i logged back in and changed the payment method. EVER THOUGH AMAZON APPROVED ALL THE PURCHASES on their card and then frozen them days later. Not hours. Days later. I had to wait on an emergency tool to unlock something important. And that was delay by days because of their computer systems changing things automatically just as it did with me ID? Don't they think i know what i want? Why do they force their card and their lower cases and their enforced payments even if the account balance would have been zero when it happened? I could be overdrawn with these things they do. $404 dollars is not always in that checking account. 3:03:00 PM : James: I am sorry, we do not have an option to email 3:03:01 PM : James: Once the chat is ended, you may scroll down and click on "Skip the Survey and Print chat". 3:04:11 PM : James: Please do not misunderstand, and I am really sorry for all the confusions and problems 3:04:55 PM : James: We do respect your time and understand how difficult it would be if you are getting problems in log in 3:05:45 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: I will try the phone again now. What is the correctED balance i want to pay when i call? 3:06:10 PM : James: You can pay $378.23. 3:06:30 PM : James: And make sure that you cancel the payment which you made online 3:06:40 PM : James: Thank you for your patience. 3:08:42 PM : James: I will be glad to help if you need any more information from your account. 3:08:58 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: ty on phone 3:09:45 PM : James: Thank you for your patience and understanding. 3:10:00 PM : James: Thank you for contacting Synchrony Bank regarding your Amazon.com Store Card. Have a wonderful day. 3:11:41 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Here is a 4th lie. They want paper checks and not credit card. Debit card is not an option. And the voice recognition is nearly impossible had to repeat until it let me use the touch pad to navigate. 3:15:22 PM : James: You can make the payment over the phone with live agent with debit card 3:15:36 PM : James: You can say "agent" "agent" 3:15:54 PM : James: It will connect you to live agent and you can make the payment with debit card 3:16:10 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Thank you James. An agent did answer. And she said there would be no charge for the Debit card. 3:16:25 PM : James: Perfect! 3:16:30 PM : James: Thank you. 3:16:43 PM : James: Thank you for contacting Synchrony Bank regarding your Amazon.com Store Card. Have a wonderful day. 3:17:23 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Okay i paid the $378.23 ~ Here is hoping all this posts overnight. I want to see it done Friday and not have to wait for Monday. 3:15:54 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: I am closing this damn account if after it is all paid no one authorizes or corrects it to a $1500 limit or more. 3:16:52 PM : James: You can any time contact us 3:17:02 PM : James: We are always here to help you 3:17:52 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Okay. Now let's print or email this transcript. 3:18:02 PM : James: Sure 3:18:07 PM : James: Thank you for contacting Synchrony Bank regarding your Amazon.com Store Card. Have a wonderful day. 3:19:55 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Why is that option to print not appearing? 3:20:20 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: ..... 3:20:58 PM : James: You would need to end chat and then you can view the option 3:21:06 PM : James: Please click on close option on the top 3:21:16 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: it says exit. I will not exit. 3:21:38 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: i want a copy of the chat before it exit. As exist means close door behind you. 3:22:08 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: i do not want to close this window. 3:22:28 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: " [X] Exit " 3:23:01 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Can you close this chat so i may have a copy? 3:23:04 PM : James: You can copy the chat transcript and paste in word document 3:23:11 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: end* this chat 3:23:39 PM : James: If you " [X] Exit " you can view it option to "print" chat 3:23:48 PM : James: Do not worry, the chat transcript will be there 3:25:28 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: alright. I will copy and paste. StarOffice used to be better than Word and for all the Linux users out there it is not good to assume a paid for Microsoft program is on every computer. 3:26:02 PM : Ui Neil Sandage: Star Office may still be better. (My computer does have the other. I had a student discount on it.) The following is three fields from the Feedback Survey after you "close" or as it says "Exit" the Chat window. **** The card and process is a nightmare. The $400 limit was only good for the one purchase i made. And my balance was $403.23 with tons of blocked orders on Amazon because i spend more than $1,000 in a month and it automatically switched my default payment card to Syncho profanity. ~ James did okay. But as soon as my “paid in full” zero balance posts, then I am closing the account. Edited: (too many characters = 255 with spaces) The $400 limit was only good for the one purchase i made. i spend more than $1,000 in a month and it automatically switched my default payment card to Syncho profanity. As soon as my “paid in full” zero balance posts, then I am closing the account. **** James was polite and prompt. But there were a few things unclear or felt contrary. When asked or prompted he did well. I appreciate the $25 credit. It took the hate or venom out of the emotions. But it is the card and hit on my credit for a ridiculously low $400 that i paid off today and wanted to close today that is ridiculous. The balance does not update quickly and i have to wait. At the start the Agent kept wanting to pull my credit for a second month to change me credit limit when what I opened with was a desire to pay in full and correct when the payment would be processed from 20 days out as it automatically dated the bank draft, to process it today. He was saying there is a magical chance that might not happen does not help. I need a yes or a no. Again. He is not doubt an excellent agent for politeness. But i need a very precise agent that does what I want and not someone who does credit pulls at every chance. There were a lot of issues i had to figure out for myself even though he works for them. I had to get to the conclusion before he confirmed it. And he was polite. It is the company(ies) that is(are) the problem and not this specific person. Edited: (too many characters = 255 with spaces) He is not doubt an excellent agent for politeness. But i need a very precise agent that does what I want and not someone who does credit pulls at every chance. There were a lot of issues i had to figure out for myself even though he works for them. **** I need the ability to print and email the chats. And this exit thing really does exit the chat so that you can not have a copy of the conversation. Even now it says submit this feedback or get a copy of the chat. You are not allowed to talk back if you want to read what was said or have a copy of it. EDIT : 238 without spaces or 305 with. They have a character limit of 255. I need the ability to print & email the chats. This “Exit” thing really does exit the chat so that you cannot have a copy of the conversation. Even now it says submit feedback or get a copy of the chat. You r not allowed to talk back and have evidence.

Convenient and easy to use
It's convenient and easy to use. The interest rate is a little high but it's not a concern if you pay off your balance. I love that you can link it to your Amazon account making it even easier to make payments and manage.

Easy Approval Process and Great Rewards
I’ve had a very positive experience with the Amazon Store Card so far. The application and approval process was quick, simple, and straightforward. Managing the account through the Synchrony app has also been very easy, with a clean layout that makes it simple to view balances, make payments, and track purchases. One of the best features is the 5% rewards on Amazon purchases for Prime members. The cashback adds up quickly if you shop on Amazon regularly, and the rewards are easy to redeem during checkout. I also appreciate the special financing options that are sometimes offered on larger purchases, along with helpful account alerts and security features. Overall, this card is convenient, user friendly, and a great option for frequent Amazon shoppers.
