We had a rack or two of these planters that had gotten made before the green was officially cut, and we decided to throw them on a Turquoise burn and see how they came out a sort of last ditch effort to see if the green
It's been several years since our Copper Green / Juniper Green glaze has worked. These planters have been sitting in the dryer unfired for quite some time due to the Green glaze needing its own special kiln burn to come out "correctly". We had a rack or two of these planters that had gotten made before the green was officially cut, and we decided to throw them on a Turquoise burn and see how they came out - a sort of last ditch effort to see if the green had changed.
They came out kind of green, textured, and very light (weight wise).
Our artist Pam Ballard hand carved the Tree of Life motif for this collection. The Tree of Life symbol is from ancient times and is still so popular today. Our Tree of Life planters got a new look this year using our glazes that break and highlight the design. With Burley's uniquely made colors, these planters are sure to impress.
Burley is best known for our unique hand painted birdbaths and planters. This planter is 100% handcrafted with rich clay deposits in Roseville, Ohio. Burley is the last American Made pottery factory around. We still make pottery using the lost art of Jiggering and some of our jiggermen go back generations.
