Lunaria annua, commonly known as honesty, silver dollar plant, or money plant, is a biennial flowering plant native to regions of southeastern Europe and western Asia. Here's some key information about this plant:

Description: Honesty is known for its attractive foliage and unique seed pods. In its first year of growth, it typically produces a basal rosette of coarse, heart-shaped leaves. In the second year, it sends up tall flower stalks, reaching heights of up to 3 feet (about 1 meter), topped with clusters of fragrant, four-petaled flowers. After flowering, the plant forms distinctive, translucent seed pods that resemble silver coins, hence the common name "money plant."

Cultivation: Honesty is easy to grow and prefers well-drained soil and full to partial sun. It readily self-seeds, often spreading to fill in garden beds. It is commonly grown as an ornamental plant in gardens for its attractive foliage and seed pods.

Uses: The seed pods of Lunaria annua are often used in dried flower arrangements for their unique appearance. They can be harvested once they have dried on the plant and are commonly sprayed with metallic paints for decorative purposes.

Ecological Importance: Honesty flowers are attractive to pollinators such as bees and butterflies, providing a valuable nectar source. The plant also serves as a host for the larvae of certain moth species.

Historical Significance: The name "honesty" may have originated from the translucent seed pods, which reveal the seeds inside, symbolizing transparency and truthfulness. Hardy in zones 4-8.

    Great for Sun Allergy Rashes!
    Scent: Unscented, Scent: Unscented
I have an autoimmune disease called Sjogren’s Disease. With that, for me, comes a sensitivity to the sun in the form of sun allergy rashes. Also with that, I did a deep dive on the best sunscreens and read a lot of reviews on here. I put some of the outer sides of elbows where my sun allergy rashes were when I received it. There was slight sting, but the skin there was already slightly broken. I really love the texture of it, how it feels on my skin and that there's no white cast. It’s moisturizing, too, with no greasiness. Absorbed really well.

    The best mineral sunscreen
    Scent: Unscented
I’m so impressed by this sunscreen! I’ve been using mineral sunscreens for years and this blows every other one I’ve tried out of the water. It is silky smooth and applies so easily, absorbs well and doesn’t feel greasy or heavy. It doesn’t leave a white cast but it still protects very well! Of course like any sunscreen it’s only as effective as your usage, so reapplying is paramount. The unscented truly has no smell to it, which is something I appreciate. Using it for the first time, neither myself or my fair kiddos got sunburnt. It’s just all around a fantastic, clean mineral sunscreen and will be my go to from now on!

    Wellness Staple for Sensitive Skin
Scent: Pear & Coconut Water, Scent: Pear & Coconut Water
I’m becoming much more intentional about the products I use on and around my body, especially while traveling, and this sunscreen ended up being one of the best things we packed for our girls trip to Mexico. My friend has extremely sensitive skin and typically reacts to a lot of sunscreens, so we wanted something mineral-based, reef safe, and more wellness-conscious overall. We split one bottle between the two of us over about five days, and honestly it held up really well. It felt lightweight for a mineral sunscreen, blended in better than expected, and didn’t leave our skin feeling greasy or irritated in the heat. Most importantly, neither of us experienced sensitivity issues or breakouts during the trip. I also appreciated the peace of mind of using something reef safe while spending so much time in the ocean. It’s one of those products that aligns well with a more mindful, health-focused lifestyle without sacrificing effectiveness.

    Love the scent
    Scent: Tropical Breeze
This sunscreen has such a great scent and is easy to apply with no white cast. Skin doesn't feel clogged or sweaty. Easy to apply and distribute. Like that it's a zinc oxide sunscreen that is doesn't leave a white cast and has a wonderful tropical scent. Wish it came in SPF 50 or higher.

    ACTUALLY unscented! Finally!
    Scent: Unscented
I have been on a personal mission to find a truly unscented sunscreen, as I have extremely sensitive skin and medical conditions that cause me to have skin reactions to fragrance. I have tested out 10+ different sunscreens and even in those that do not list a fragrance, can still have a strong smell or scent due to one or more of their ingredients. This sunscreen truly is UNSCENTED. I was even able to use it on my face today, which until now I have been able to do successfully with only one other sunscreen. I have yet to try out this sunscreen in direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time, so I cannot speak for how effective the SPF 30 is for activities out in the sun, but I was able to comfortably wear it for walking my dog for 20 or so minutes while wearing a sun hat, which is normal use for me when it comes to sunscreen. I will come back and update this review if anything changes as far as sun sensitivity or if any burning takes place. Now for the cons: it felt a bit heavy or "stifley" on my face, but I have sensory processing issues so I'm sensitive, and there was pilling on my face hours later. So far I would recommend this sunscreen and am stoked to have discovered it. It is my current go-to for my body sunscreen, and haruhara wonder black rice SPF 50 velvet finish sunscreen is my go-to for face sunscreen
