An outstanding wildlife plant for wild lawns and every kind of meadow.

Despite the fact that this small perennial, climbing, twining wildflower occurs in most of North America’s meadow, prairie, and grassland regions, American vetch rarely gets noticed.

This is unfortunate since it is a long-blooming little plant with pink- or fuchsia-colored flowers, and is a host plant for MANY species of butterflies (including the western tailed blue (Cupido amyntula), the eastern tailed blue (Cupido comyntas), the silvery blue (Glaucopsyche lygdamus), the Funereal duskywing (Erynnis funeralis), and the western sulphur (Colias occidentalis) to name just a few!). Moreover, American vetch is an exemplary bumble bee plant.

Not at all aggressive or crowding in the way that non-native vetches are, American vetch typically forms fewer stems, remaining slender, and scarcely visible within a grassy canopy – its presence revealed mostly by small showy flowers during the late spring and summer months.

This is a plant that can be mowed periodically, one that both provides some browsing value for herbivores, while still growing back perfectly fine. As one of the most carefree native wildflowers it can grow in wet and dry conditions alike, supported by a surprisingly robust taproot with many branching fibrous roots. Plant this in full sun, or under a bit of partial shade. In either location, it tends to sprawl and weave itself among other vegetation, mostly staying the same height as the surrounding vegetation, and persisting for many years.

Things to Love:

  • Can be overseeded into existing grassy areas and wild lawns
  • Small fuchsia flowers are very long-lasting and “float” in meadows on thin discrete stems
  • Host plant for numerous butterflies -- especially the magically beautiful small blues (Family Lycaenidae)

Things to Know:

  • Seeds tend to have a high degree of dormancy and can benefit from pre-soaking in warm water before planting, or cold stratification
  • Best planted with grasses for support

Packet Size: Approximately 600+ seeds. (10 grams).

Fun, Durable Toy That Keeps Dogs Entertained
Color: light blue
This interactive dog toy has been great for keeping my dog fairly active and engaged. The auto-bounce and rotating features grab attention instantly, and the chew-resistant material holds up well. You can also turn the multicolored lights on to play in the dark or just have a fun time while your pet chases the ball. It is so easy to use, rechargeable, and perfect for burning energy indoors or outside. 🐶 Although both my dogs were sorta interested…due to colder temperatures (they are elder dogs) they probably would have had more fun, if the weather was warmer. I also tried to entertain the neighbors poodle too!

Fun ball for dog
Color: light blue
This is a great toy for the dog. So far the ball is still complete by chewing several days. I have to say it is perfect size for the big dog. The ball is light and also has a changeable light and models.

Well made dog toy
Color: Blue
The snoops are great for our active labrador. He is a very aggressive chewer, and so far, has not destroyed a snoop yet. He has mulitples. They are a great size for filling with treats or kibble and they keep him engaged in the activity. He even likes to carry them when he does his zoomies sometimes. They are lightweight and sturdy, and the material is nice and flexible. Great toy / puzzle ball to have around for your pup!

Great for mental stimulation. Durable for my chewers!
Color: Purple Lil Snoop, Color: Purple Lil Snoop
Love these! Quality material, safe for dogs — I make my dogs home made freezer treats and fill these up with it, and serve. Keeps them busy for hours. It’s also fun for them to roll it around to get regular treats out of. Toy + treats = a very happy pup. This size I got for my puppy. The larger ones I use for my adult dogs. Super cute too, and silent! I have Mini Aussies, so it’s great mental stimulation for them. Tires them out.
