We managed to get our hands on this beauty because it is one of the rarest and most unusual plants that you can currently get. However, this does make it a plant with a somewhat higher price tag.

Physical characteristics

Large, long leaves

The leaves of this fantastic Philodendron Spiritus Sancti can grow huge, reaching as much as 50 to 75 centimeters in length and around 10 centimeters in width. They have a dark green and dull color, but the grain is light-colored, a beautiful contrast. When fully grown, they have a beautiful shape, more often compared to rabbit ears. The petioles can reach a length between 30 and 60 centimeters. 

Similar houseplants

With 4 lateral veins in the leaves and an elongated, triangular shape, the plant is somewhat similar to the Philodendron atabapoense. Yet the Spiritus Sancti has a more eloquent shape. And what's more, this is a collector's item in the plant world. Therefore, the expectation of many plant experts is that this plant will not just ever be found in an "ordinary" garden center. It is too rare and too special for that.

Care

Temperature and nutrition

In the right circumstances, this beautiful Philodendron Spiritus Sancti can produce between 1 and 3 new leaves per month during the growing season. This plant has no extreme requirements for humidity, as long as there is constant humidity. It also has no special requirements for temperature, as long as it is between 18 and 25°C degrees and above all constant. This Philodendron does not require any additional feeding.

In natural conditions, the plant lives in a humidity of slightly below 80% on average. But according to experts, this plant also does well in a living room with an average humidity of 50-70%.
