It is preferable that the soil does not contain much organic material, such as peat moss and that the plant is not fertilized with heavy nitrogen as this can cause an explosion of soft, flabby growth that can make the plant prone to bacterial rots. Decomposed granite is often an excellent media as it has many trace minerals and is similar to the South African quartz fields where these and others of the "Stone Mimicry" are found growing. Love to sub on these. Price is ok. They did come with film which is easy to remove they do not come individually packaged so if you intend to sub and sell you need to thick about packaging..others come individually packaging so consider that before purchasing. Quality is overall good size is good and they sub great with a beautiful finish as long as you know what setting to sub with color is crisp when dine correctly
