Maranta are low-growing, spreading plants that make them ideal for a windowsill or side table where they can be appreciated and stay out your way. This is the ideal plant for a bathroom which is typically humid and has lower light levels than most rooms of the home.

Light Requirements: Medium light is ideal but grows well in bright indirect light and tolerant of low light conditions. Plants in too bright light will develop small spots on their leaves and may become dull.

Moisture & Soil Requirements: Prefers evenly moist soil with good drainage in warm seasons - never soggy soil. 

Growth & Nutrients: Clumping growth, up to 20cm. Suits apartments or homes of any size. Flowers in early summer with small lilac & white blooms. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser for containers from the start of spring each year to autumn when growth slows down.

Temperature, Humidity & Ambient requirements: Prefers warm, humid environments inside. Humidity is essential in successfully growing Maranta. In winter these may die back or slow their growth down completely. Move to a brighter position to maintain the plant if it is in a low light area.
