Anthurium reflexinervium

Anthurium reflexinervium has strongly bullate, quilted leaves with a densely raised surface. The dark green upper leaf surface, paler underside, undulate margins and pronounced venation give each blade a deeply textured pattern.

This Peruvian Anthurium grows on rocky slopes in moist tropical forest conditions, with a compact epilithic habit and a short stem. Its roots need sharp drainage, air and steady moisture around a mineral-rich substrate.

Quilted foliage and rocky-root traits

  • Origin: Native to Peru, including the Tingo María area in Huánuco.
  • Growth habit: Short-stemmed and epilithic, with dense roots and fibrous cataphyll remains.
  • Leaf shape: Broadly oblanceolate-elliptic blades with erect to spreading presentation.
  • Texture: Strongly bullate leaves create a quilted surface across the blade.
  • Venation: Many primary lateral veins and a collective vein close to the margin define the leaf surface.
  • Margins: Undulate leaf edges add to the structured, uneven outline.

Rocky-slope growth

Anthurium reflexinervium grows with roots adapted to air and drainage around rock and organic debris. In a pot, that means a mineral-rich aroid mix with plenty of structure, steady moisture and quick drainage after each watering.

The textured leaves need stable humidity while they expand. Sudden dry air, direct sun or a dense wet mix can mark new foliage before it hardens.

Rocky-root care for Anthurium reflexinervium

  • Light: Give bright filtered light. Direct sun can scorch the raised leaf surface.
  • Water: Keep the mix lightly and evenly moist, then allow the upper layer to breathe before watering again.
  • Substrate: Use a chunky blend with bark, pumice, perlite, coarse fibre and a little moisture-holding organic matter.
  • Humidity: Higher humidity keeps new bullate leaves from crisping or expanding unevenly.
  • Air movement: Gentle airflow around the leaves and pot moves stale moisture away from the crown.
  • Temperature: Warm, stable temperatures are preferred; cold wet substrate can stall root activity.
  • Pot choice: A shallow, stable pot with excellent drainage matches the short-stemmed habit and keeps the root zone evenly aerated.

Leaf and root issues

  • Crisped new leaves: Humidity is too low or the leaf expanded during a dry spell.
  • Soft roots: The substrate is too dense, too wet or too cold around the root zone.
  • Scorched patches: Direct sun has reached the leaf surface.
  • Distorted leaf texture: Irregular moisture during expansion can leave bullate leaves uneven or tight.
  • Stalled growth: Check for cold roots, compacted mix or old substrate that no longer drains quickly.

Safety for Anthurium reflexinervium

Anthurium reflexinervium contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals. Keep the plant out of reach of chewing pets and small children, and avoid contact with sap from cut or damaged tissue.

Publication notes

Anthurium reflexinervium Croat was published in Annals of the Missouri Botanical Garden in 1991. The species is placed in Araceae and is native to Peru.

Stable humidity and an aerated mineral mix help new bullate leaves harden with fewer dry marks.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action
Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.

Fun read
Format: Kindle
I'm not really into mafia books but I love Roxy Collin's other series so I decided to give it a try. It had the same great romance, spice, swoon-worthy characters and exciting plot that are her signature. Arben was my favorite, although it was a bit sudden how quickly he changed from ignoring her to wanting to be pack. There were almost too many twists/layers of lies to keep track of but I'm looking forward to reading the other books. The only thing that detracted from the story for me was the need for a bit more proofreading. It was mentioned that Kelly is a female and male at different points, leading me to think she changed her mind at some point about the character's gender but didn't go back and edit it to align in all places. Like another reviewer pointed out, step siblings are different than half siblings. They are incorrectly referred to as step siblings because they (allegedly) share the same biological dad. There are a few other typos as well but those aren't a big deal.
