Plant Care
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can also adapt to lower light conditions but may exhibit slower growth and less vibrant coloration. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Water when the soil feels dry to the touch, ensuring proper drainage to avoid waterlogging and root rot. Reduce watering in the winter months.
Humidity: Adapts well to average indoor humidity levels but prefers moderate humidity. Increase humidity by misting the leaves occasionally or using a humidifier if the air is very dry.
Temperature: Ideal temperatures range from 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat, perlite, and pine bark. Good drainage is crucial to prevent root rot.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is 1-2 inches larger in diameter and ensure it has good drainage.
