A handpicked selection of The Dude's best desert plants for uromastyx. These desert dwelling lizards live in some of the hottest parts of the planet. The plants included in this kit can not only handle the arid, hot temperatures their husbandry requires, but also their weight and foraging habits. Being herbivores (having a diet of plants), Uromastyx are foraging constantly in the wild, taking in water and nutrients when they can. Offering them the ability to rip at a cactus, climb a small edible tree, or snack on an arid plant, not only gives them options to forage, but also allows them to follow their natural instincts.

Note: These are larger plants that require a deep layer of Terra Sahara and can reach a moderate height (at least 14").

All plants are grown 100% organically with no pesticides or herbicides.

Included in this kit is:

  • 4" pot - Aloe, elephant feed, crassula jade, or spaghetti agave plant
  • 6" pot - Opuntia Spineless Cacti, 12"-18" tall
  • 6" pot - Crassula jade or elephant feed

Opunita cactus- Hands down one of the best desert plants to use. These tough, spineless cacti are not only naturally high in calcium, but take work to eat. Your lizard will work, scratch, and gnaw until they can get that fresh piece off. Easy to grow and maintain and will benefit your lizard if ingested.

Elephant feed - These small shrub-like trees are a great option to give your lizard a taste of something a little different. High in moisture, these succulents are very strong, and can handle the weight of your lizard climbing, perching, basking, and doing what they love to do. Some lizards may even darken their skin to help blend in with this tree at night time. Having the ability to climb high when the sun goes down helps them feel more comfortable.

Aloe plants - A great addition to your vivarium, as they are very easy to grow, can handle a beating, and can handle being uprooted. They are also very high in moisture, so if ingested can have a rehydration benefit (however, if eaten in excess, they can cause looser/wetter stools due to the higher moisture content).

It is also recommended to plant more healthy edibles in with your Uro's. Mint, basil, oregano, rosemary, hibiscus, kale, and lettuce are all examples of plants you can establish in your vivarium to give your terrarium a nice clean smell while providing natural food and enrichment for your lizard (additional plants may have different watering/moisture requirements than the plants included in this kit).

Plants may be switched, due to availability, to similar plants.

You Get What You Pay For! A Piece Of Junk!
Size: 1 Panel
Flimsy and a piece of junk. Don’t waste your money. Assembly is a pain because it is so flimsy. Divider is thin. You can see right through it. Very wobbly.

Instructions are useless
Size: 1 Panel
The instructions are poorly written and not very helpful. The divider itself is easy to assemble, and honestly, it would’ve been quicker if I had skipped the directions altogether. Once put together, though, it works as intended.

This was the best
Size: 1 Panel
This divider is great for creating a little privacy or separating a small area without taking up much space. The fabric is thick enough to block visual clutter, and the frame is lightweight but stable once it’s opened. It folds flat for storage, which is convenient if you only need it occasionally. Assembly was straightforward, and it was the perfect size. It’s a practical piece for apartments, studios, or home offices where you want a quick, temporary partition.

Good privacy screen
Size: 1 Panel, Size: 1 Panel
This is a good privacy screen that's easy to assemble and looks nice. Be a little careful moving it, as the corners can twist. It's sturdy once in place, and the thick material is completely opaque. If the folds bother you, you might want to iron it, but I'm happy with it as is.

Lightweight divider that works well for video call backgrounds
Size: 1 Panel
This divider works fine for what it is, but it’s definitely on the lightweight side. Setup was very easy and only took a few minutes. The frame is fairly light, so it’s easy to move around or reposition if needed. That said, the tradeoff is that it’s not especially sturdy. It stands fine on its own but I wouldn’t expect it to handle much bumping or movement. I mainly bought it to use as a background for Zoom calls when I’m working from my den, and for that purpose it works great. The fabric panel blocks the room behind me and gives a cleaner background on camera. It’s not huge though. To keep the camera from seeing around it, I have to position it directly behind my chair. If you’re expecting it to divide a large room or create a big privacy barrier, it may feel a bit small. Overall, it does the job and works well for temporary setups or video call backgrounds, but the lightweight frame keeps it from feeling like a premium divider. The product description and photos are accurate.
