Palestine Strawberry Clover, scientifically known as Trifolium fragiferum, is a remarkable and versatile legume that serves various purposes in gardening, farming, and landscaping.

Introduction to Palestine Strawberry Clover

Palestine Strawberry Clover is a unique variety of clover that belongs to the Trifolium genus. It is a cool-season legume with a reputation for its attractive appearance and multifaceted uses. The name "Strawberry Clover" derives from the distinctive appearance of its seed heads, which resemble tiny strawberries when they ripen.

Key Features and Characteristics

  1. Drought Tolerance: Palestine Strawberry Clover is renowned for its ability to thrive in regions with limited water resources. It has adapted to drought conditions and can persist even when moisture levels are low, making it an excellent choice for arid or semi-arid climates.

  2. Nitrogen Fixation: Like other legumes, this clover species possesses the remarkable ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen with the help of symbiotic bacteria in its root nodules. This nitrogen fixation process enriches the soil with this essential nutrient, benefiting both the clover itself and neighboring plants.

  3. Forage Quality: Palestine Strawberry Clover provides high-quality forage for livestock. Its leaves are rich in nutrients, making it a nutritious food source for grazing animals. Farmers and ranchers often incorporate it into pastures to enhance the nutritional value of their forage.

  4. Soil Erosion Control: The dense growth habit and robust root system of Palestine Strawberry Clover make it an effective choice for controlling soil erosion. Its roots bind the soil particles together, reducing the risk of erosion by wind or water.

Ideal Growing Conditions

Palestine Strawberry Clover thrives in specific environmental conditions:

  • Climate: It is well-suited to temperate and Mediterranean climates. It can tolerate a range of temperatures but prefers cooler weather.

  • Soil Type: This clover species prefers well-drained, loamy soils with good organic matter content. It can adapt to various soil types, but soil with good drainage is essential.

  • Sunlight: It grows best in full sun to partial shade, making it versatile for various landscaping and agricultural purposes.

Rhizocoated Seeds

The product you mentioned, "Palestine Strawberry Clover Rhizocoated lb," indicates that the seeds are rhizocoated. Rhizocoating is a process where beneficial Rhizobium bacteria are applied to the seeds. These bacteria establish a symbiotic relationship with the clover's root system, aiding in nitrogen fixation. Rhizocoated seeds can enhance the overall performance and nitrogen-fixing capabilities of the clover.

Applications

Palestine Strawberry Clover seeds find applications in several areas:

  1. Pasture and Forage: Farmers often sow these seeds in pastures to provide nutritious forage for livestock, including cattle, sheep, and goats. The nitrogen-fixing ability of the clover enhances the overall fertility of the pasture.

  2. Erosion Control: Landscapers and conservationists use Palestine Strawberry Clover for erosion control on slopes, hillsides, and disturbed areas. Its extensive root system stabilizes the soil, preventing erosion.

  3. Cover Cropping: In agriculture, Palestine Strawberry Clover can be used as a cover crop to improve soil health, suppress weeds, and add nitrogen to the soil, benefiting subsequent crops in crop rotation systems.

Palestine Strawberry Clover, with its unique characteristics and versatility, offers numerous advantages to growers, farmers, and landscapers. From providing high-quality forage to contributing to soil fertility and erosion control, these seeds are a valuable addition to various agricultural and environmental projects. Whether you are a farmer looking to enhance your pasture or a landscaper aiming to combat erosion, Palestine Strawberry Clover seeds can be an excellent choice for achieving your goals.

Great buy-read update
Flavor Name: Beef, Size: Large
My dog loved it right away. Kept going from his old bone to this one and finally just stuck with this one. My dog is a 90 pound 1.5 year old German Shepherd. The size is fine. I don’t know what the other people were talking about when they said the large was too small for big dogs. It’s not indestructible, after one day there were serious gouges on it, but it looks like it’s going to last quite awhile. I will say, he’s not able to gnaw off little pieces of it, and that’s a great thing. I couldn’t give it five stars, because we just received it, and the dog has only had it for a few days. So it’s 4 stars. ****UPDATE**** As of Jan. 1, 2021, the bone is in the trash. The thing seemed to get softer and come apart more easily the more he chewed. I was finding little pieces all over and god only knows much of it he swallowed. Now I give it 3 stars.

Yes it's for aggressive chewers
Flavor Name: Beef, Size: Medium, Flavor Name: Beef, Size: Medium
I have 2 dogs a malti poo and 120 lb pit rotty mix. My son just moved in with his 8 month old pitty/ 90 lbs. needless to say we have purchased sooo many bones and toys, always have to have bones for them all or they argue and fight. This bone we have had for about 8 -9 days.. They all chew on it non stop and it is still fully intact with a few rough areas where they chewed up the suface. The picture was taken today. But keep in mind they will typically go through a large elk antler ($40) in about 4-5 days.. down to splinters. but not this bone. I got the beef. It does have a slight smell, kind of beefy but no worse than some other bones we bought. Only noticed it taking it out of the package. They all enjoy it. I was worried they wouldn't be interested because it's fake.. but no. I will definitely purchase a few more cuz when someone isn't home the pitty will chew shoes or remotes, etc. Every day was a new surprise. But he hasn't touched anything since we got this bone. I would definitely recommend for aggressive chewers and the price is reasonable.

Disappointing
Flavor Name: Chicken, Size: Large
I was disappointed. In the description, it mentioned it has meat aroma. It doesn't. My dog has barely paid any attention to it at all... and he will chew on anything!

Great Dog Chew!
My American Pitbull who is 10 months old is an aggressive chewer. He loves this Tikaton bacon scented dog chew. My picture reflects the part he loves the most-the center. It’s his favorite chew & has been chewing on it nonstop & there’s little sign of true wear & tear. He licks the outer portion & really focuses on chewing the center. I like how it’s a non-toxic nylon. The box clearly gives a heads up that this could be a chocking hazard so I do watch him when he’s chewing. He’s 60lbs. & I did get him a large so it’s not too small for him. I don’t foresee him choking on it but I’m cautious. Despite his aggressive chewing there has been zero sign of any piece tearing off. I like how it’s designed so he chews from the side rather than from the top or bottom. I did take a picture, for your reference, which I hope is helpful, of what the box reads in regards to the chew in general. Possibly this will determine if you feel this is right for your dog. I feel it’s a quality chew & it’s worth what I paid. I do recommend!
